RE: A few q's re Dodge..engine, price and tow package
In 2010 Dodge upped their tow ratings on the 1/2 ton trucks. I have a 2010 Dodge 1500 Quadcab 5.7 hemi w/3:92 rears w/17" wheels. The tow rating for my truck according to the chassis builders specs is 10,100lbs. I did upgrade the stock tires to E rated which does make the unloaded ride a little rough. I just traded in my Keystone Hornet 27dbs which according to the cat scales weighed 9200lbs. I was right on the edge of the max tow rating and the truck handled the camper just fine and I never once felt unsafe. That being said I realized I was on the edge and my wife and i just traded the TT in on a 2012 Winnabago One 26RK which has a dry weight of 6500lbs and a max weight of 8000lbs. I loaded all of our gear into the new camper and took a test tow this weekend and the truck handles the load a lot better. I was getting around 12mpg towing the Hornet and while I wasn't winning any races going up grades the engine had plenty of power. The truck has a tow/haul feature which keeps the tourqe converter locked longer and has crisper shifts. My truck has the center console shifter which can used much like a manual by tapping into lower gears as needed. I also have the flip up tow mirrors which are awsome. If you do decide to go Dodge 1500 make sure you get the tow package, w/3:92 rears, and the 17" wheels. As others have said, if you can swing the 3/4 ton the heavier components are worth the investment buy if the 1500 is more in your budget don't be afraid of it handling a decent sized trailer.

LOL...yea, Winnabago is back in the trailer mfg business. We saw this unit at a show and was talking to the Winnabago rep. He said Winnie bought the Sunnybrook line and is introducing the Winnie line and as of right now they only have two models available. My wife and I fell in love with this unit as the layour works for us. We can't believe the room we have in this camper and the quality of fit and finish.

Just got the Winnabago One 26RK
Hey there guys and gals. Been a while since I have been on here. We just traded in our 2008 Keystone Hornet 27dbs for the new Winnabago One 26RK. After looking for a TT that was a little lighter with a more comfortable layout for the last two years we finally pulled the trigger on the new Winnie. We fell in love with this trailer from the minute we stepped into it. We would love to hear from any others who purchased one of the new Winnabago trailers to compare notes....
