RE: Death Valley ~ A whole different Dimension-Part 1, 2 & 3

You may be a rookie to some ol desert rats who haven't seen a toothbrush this year but you're THE MAN when it comes to trip reports full of life, friends and info. My hats off to you Bryan. I'm sitting here solo at the Overland Expo and wondering...where in the world is Bryan? You should be here my friend, taking pictures and chatting up the neighbors.

RE: France, short trip to test our camper (lots of pics)

Hello Thierry, I almost missed your post here but what a nice treat to see you and your wife having a great time in the new camper. Super nice pictures of the area and the cows are the healthiest I've ever seen. They look like they work out at the gym! I'm glad you had a great time and look forward to seeing more.
Have a nice week Thierry and Natacha...

RE: Slippin' and a Slidin'.....fixed!!!

Oh she's a pretty rig DJ. Nice to know she won't be moving around too much. Is there room on the brackets to move the rear jacks up so the feet are even with the camper? And of course you know that with the new Tundra type you'll need solar if you don't have it. They too are hostage to the outside temps but not the same degree as the gas. Degree, that was a fridge joke...ok moving on

RE: changing a flat

Hey BW, In 5 years I've had 14, yeah man, 14 flats. I guess I'm flat tired, hah. That includes 5 broken wheels, go figure. I have used nothing but the OEM jack, even off road. You know I have a heavy pop-up with no issues getting the spare, and I feel for the guys that have to off-load just to get to the spare. Like I say, the stock jack works perfect without raising the camper. See Ya...
BTW, hope I didn't hi thread your jack...Huh?

RE: Adventurer Warranty Problems (What to do?)

Disco, does you any local tv channel have an omsbudsman? You know, like a "12 On Your Side" kind of thing. You might check to see. Sometimes a call from a tv channel helps to get a positive outcome, if it's something they might look into for you, it's what they do.

Joerg, Joerg! Whahoo, a super nice looking trip report. The trip and camper worked flawlessly and so did your camera and photographic skills. What a great post. I hope we get to see more from you and Janina. It's good to know we have more happy campers in the group. And I'll bet if you look at the plaster on the wall behind those medieval stocks it has scratched into the wall..."Joerg was here." Have a good week Joerg.

RE: The Whazoo's trip of many colors...Or...Brokefoot Mountain

Skip, And I haven't heard Bultaco in years. The Pursang was a serious dirtbike, you're lucky to have had one. And lucky to still be alive from the sounds of it. The Honda Toilet Seat 90 is a great little trail bike. If I remember correctly they had a dual gear set-up like our trucks have 4-hi and 4-low. At this point they would be a lot of fun. Take care Skip!
I agree about the photo JacintoKid, I would have that one on my wall.
Goodmorning Ben, Let's call it fashionably late. That makes you fashionably cool. I didn't know if you still hung around these parts or not, but I'm glad to see it. Thanks Ben and sorry about the Dutch Oven. We actually forgot all about getting a recipe together until the morning of departure...too late.
Señior Ed, Rain? We sure need that out here, please send some. The thought of trout fishing with you and some of your special lures is...alluring. You could feed a third world nation with the fish you throw back. I'll send a few more ideas for you later today. I'm real envious of your upcoming trip, and hope it's a great one for you. See you, Ed!

Morning there Robert, Yes, many scenes from the southwest look alike. Something about plate tectonics gave the whole place the same face lift a gazillion years ago. Hope you liked it.

RE: The Whazoo's trip of many colors...Or...Brokefoot Mountain

Ron, I did not know about the latest Baja, that's fantastic. I agree 100%, Malcolm Smith was the best all round rider we've ever seen. And what a guy. He had his own shop in Riverside for many many years, it might still be there. Have you ever seen the movie "On Any Sunday"? Probably so but I was just wondering.
That would be great Raften. I'm also going to order a book titled Cowboys and Cave Dwellers about late 19th century cowboy/archeologists in the Grand Gulch area. Looks like some good reading all the way around. Be talking with you...
Hi Bertram, You bet the clouds add so much. Honestly I wish the pictures were a little better but without the clouds I would not have taken as many pics at all. And yes, you must explore Utah!
Hello Big Rig, Thank you and it's fantastic to get a note from you. Have a good weekend...

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Brad, I hope that doesn't come with a slack jaw and a little drool down the chin.:W
My turn, bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb, and that's with my finger between my lips going back and forth at high speed. Cheese and rice Bryan, is your tour booklet on sale at Death Valley? It sure as heck ought to be. I've never seen anything like it and as Silver said, I appreciate all the time it must have taken to put together. This one is in my "save" folder. It's funny Bryan, I start every trip report trying to be you, yet within a sentence or two realize I don't have the patience or knowledge to back me up. Outstanding from every level.

You're right Mr. Tandem, A bike would be great in those places. I know, we'll get a...tandem! Then Mrs. Whazoo can peddle while I take pictures. Take care.
Hi Camper James, And I've said thank you many times and don't mind saying it many more, thank you Sir, we were glad to have you along.
Hey Offroadsteven, I like your handle! Thanks back attcha for your reply.
ace44, I'll bet you have scenery to match this from your wonderful state. I hope to see it some day. Have a good one...
Hi Ya Silver, That technique was taught to me by an old shaman, His name was Carlos Castaneda I think. I don't really remember, all those colors of the canyons were so vivid.:B
So where are we going next I wonder??
Hello Raften, I may be right there with you, a geology fan yet most of what I know comes from the Discovery Channel or NatGeo. The forces at work are so evident in the southwest without trees to hide ground formations and canyons. To think that some of the rocks we walk on in the Grand Canyon are some of the oldest on Earth. Like I say, it makes a Whazoo feel very very small. Thanks for your comments and your time to reply.
RON! That is one major cool picture! You look like Billy Jack on a dirt bike. I like it! Let's see, in 68 I was on a Honda Super 90 or my first Hodaka. I've had so many bikes I've lost track. CZ, Maico, Montesa in a Rickman-Metisse frame, 305 Scrambler, Husky and so many more. If we didn't have a new bike every year you were not cool. I climbed the "Matterhorn" at Saddleback Park on my Montessa, something very few did. I lived down the street from Malcolm Smith for 4 years in the San Bernardino foothills and would chase him relentlessly. That's how I learned to ride...On Any Sunday. Your picture there Ron, is great and I remember lusting for your bike terribly, having the brochure posted on my bedroom wall. That is the truth. I later had a friend that bought the Yamaha 360 DT and brother that was that a screaming bike, for back then. I think it was 68 that even Harley Davidson came out with a dirt bike called the Baja 100. We used to call going over the handlebars "doing the W." Let's hear it for your "incomplete loop." Thanks so much Ron, what a great shot. I miss "the days"...and at 79 you give me great hope. See Ya Ron.

Morning there Frank, I always knew you were a guy after my own heart, now I know your after Mrs. Whazoo's heart too. Yes, she's the bright spot in my picture of life and I call her Pollyanna. Thanks Frank, have a good summer over there in Vegas.
A good morning to you as well Joerg, I hope you, your family and your camper are all doing well. Thanks for taking the trip with us, the foot will heel eventually. Heel, that was a pun Silver used, I like it. Take care Joerg!

Jumpin Jehosaphat, What a great way to come limping in the door and see great responses.
Thanks rv2go.
And thank you too Yaj.
Say Bob, It's funny isn't it, I always look forward to hearing from you too. Hope you're well in Oakland. Kids in spirit indeed, I just can't kick the can right now.
Grant, of course, meet in person would be my vote. I hope you'll let us know and we can let those doggies run somewhere. Thanks so much Grant, 2013 is just around the corner.
Hi Deetour! Well I have to agree with the breathtaking part, but respectfully disagree on the photography. I get lucky now and again, but I'm no standard. Have a good good day.
Hey there SALTYDOG Cliff, I have no doubt you could explain it as it suits you, and you'd enjoy it just the same. Thanks Cliff...
Ah Jeff, Listen, for that "got to go feeling" all day...I use Depends. You funny guy.
Hello 5percent, Thank you for the support, it's always nice to hear from you and I hope you're well.
Mello Mike, It is your kind of country I know it. Nothing was close to the Burr, the first not too far from the VoTG. Talk with you later Mike...
Señior Tiger, Sorry for the June Gloom in May, or May Gray as you call it. I'm glad you liked the pics, and the crutches. I can upgrade the hiking stick for you if you like, digitally speaking. Thanks Tiger, see you around.
Dear Skip, I'm surely glad to see, that if you and I shake the tree, so one day later in time, we can afford to sit and rhyme. I sure as heck hope your plans work for you and yours Skip. I'll have to check out the timing of that Montana Rally as well. Our summer schedule may be down the tubes because of life, but what if?! Thank you Skip!!
Thierry, Thierry, Thierry...I love it. Do you really mean that about the "ankle which swells" or are you pulling my good leg? And yes, at times I do think I'm a star and my ego swells like that ankle. About then Mrs. Whazoo will yell from somewhere in the house "Whazoo, time for you to go shovel dog poop!" And I know then that I'm only a lowly Whazoo. Fantastic reply Thierry, thanks.
Thank you too Charlie And Em, have a good one.
Mr. jmtandem, I guess I'm now programmed to do it again, but I'd never say well done. Thank you for saying it and yes, it is easy to love AND miss Lake Powell.
Hi Lots of Stuff, How are you? I have to say how lucky you are and how much I would give to have seen those canyons before the lake. It's a mixed bag isn't it? Love the Lake and love the canyons. And to have a couple months on the Lake, fabulous. I bet you know it well. Have a great weekend Sir...
smh1040us, Howdy there Mark! I'm not sure about how lucky you and rvnet are, I'm thinking I've gotten long in the tooth here. But you know I appreciate the sentiment. And I hope you have your cabin for a long time so we can make it back up there for some bike rides. Thanks Mark.
sdianel, Hi Lonny & Diane, a real big thank you for the real nice response. I'm glad you took the time to reply, you made my day.
Hey Disco! Thanks a bunch, hope you're havin fun in the woods. I miss them a lot, except the chiggers.
Ah heck big whitey, it wasn't that great. Got any more pics for us yourself?? As for the elaboration it goes like this...I was climbing the Widow Maker Hill on my daughter's Honda 150 dirt bike when this big ol unmovable object, embedded boulder, collided with a movable object, my foot. Funny thing was, I'd already made it up once, but once wasn't enough, and there you have it. Have a good weekend BW, be seeing you...
Well Silversand, I was hoping you were around, I'd sure miss you if you weren't. "Photontastic", that's good Silver. But I have to say that star photo wasn't so great. By the last night of the trip, when we could actually see stars, I had taken so many pics I was photoed out and didn't really take time or care. However, if the temps don't rise too much we may yet salvage the original trip, I'll keep you up to date. The best to you and Dunes.
Hey Tim, iwon415, You are so right, I didn't bounce but more of a splat. I used to roll when I fell, those days are gone. Thanks for the compliment, I know you'd love those canyons too.
Brad, was that a test? Pass or fail? I failed didn't I? I hate it when that happens.
Hah fuelhauler, Yes, those were my golden toes to go with my golden...underwear. It's a matched set. Either that or I better loosen my pants too. Thanks a lot for your time, it's nice to see you around.
Ok Dave crosscheck, you weren't supposed to see that winch cable. I thought I photoshopped that out...along with the winch. (Wink) Parking break? Rock chocks? Well I guess we were pretty close to the edge weren't we. And yes Dave, I added a map to my will for ya. I guess I can't go hiking along a cliff with you now can I? See ya Dave...
Mr. Clarryhill, I sure look for you too now Sir, as an old friend. Those colors were some of the best I've seen, yet I have to say how much I love your mountains too. Maybe we should start a switch-off kind of thing. You can stay in my camper at a location of your choice and I'll take a turn in yours. I would get too used to your roomy camper though, and might not give it back. Thanks again Clarryhill, I hope to see you next time.
Oh yeah Bryan, Now look, don't compare my Brokefoot Mtn to your Death Valley, I fall incredibly short in comparison. And maybe I should call you Mr. OnStar as indeed, I need an oil change. Good eyes Bryan, thought I snuck Mr. Goodwhaz by you. Also, I've only taken one day off the ladder, the day after the break for xrays, besides the few days for the trip. In 3 weeks I'm already on my second boot. Those boots don't hold up well to extension ladders, not to mention our rock landscaping here in Phoenix. So no, I barely had time to "push the button" hah. Thanks just a whole lot Bryan, may our paths cross someday.
TCINTN, Howdy Ed! "oohs" and "yows" from all you showed my trip to? I told you Ed, stop showing your cat my pictures. As for the Whazoo Monthly, I do have one, Mrs. Whazoo calls it a periodical. (Was that good? I was hoping that was good.) Ed, you are one classy guy and it's my pleasure to know you as you travel and help others so much while staying in your camper. Thanks Ed, and back at ya...
Hi Sue Bee, I hear what you're sayin, about getting out more. But then I'd post more and be banished from rvnet. Which would probably be a good thing for rvnet. Thanks Sue, for such a nice comment.
Mr. RRUGG, You must be thinking of my tendency to get hoof-in-mouth. Sadly this time it wasn't or I would have already heeled. (?) Funny Mr. RRUGG, I like it. Thank you.
Say now Felix, We are close, in spirit and friendship. Too bad there's just a little water between us yes? Hello to your family for us Felix, we'll talk again soon.
Hey JacintoKid, Hey, I was checking out your rig and trailer on another post, very very nice!
If I've seen it before I forget, but am impressed all over again. Thanks for your time, I appreciate it.
AKDH, Haven't crossed the river yet as I'm always alone, but I've done most of the road coming from the other direction at Sunset Pass. I'll try it some fall when the water level is down.
Hi Mr. Clattertruck, It's always an honor to get a reply from you. Champ? No Sir, but I appreciate it.
Hi Ya Cal!! Nope, haven't moved yet, but still hopeful. Had a few set-backs last year so we're hoping for next spring if things work out. So Cal, are you saying that I scan postcards? What a darn good idea, I'll give it a try next time. As far as front lockers, I was just sittin around one day and it came to me, this really great idea I had about a front locker...and I don't mind a bit Cal that you copied me and got one too. :W
Ok, fess up Dave, it was Cal that got one first, dammit.
A big HAH Mike! I just don't see a Brokecoccyx Mountain on the map anywhere. Good thing, I don't want to go there. Thanks Mike, your replies are a thing of beauty too. lets keep em going.
jimh425, I don't mind, I've broke my back before too, just didn't do a trip report about it.
(yes, I got it Jim)
ticki2, Finally a reply that nails it, yes, I'll get some real Maple Syrup for the next trip. Problem with that is, I don't need pancakes to go with that stuff! Thanks ticki, see ya.
GoinThisAway, Say, half way through a Whazoo trip report should do just fine, it's all the samo. But, you do know I appreciate you taking a break from your break to reply. Have a super end of the week. I'll be catching your part 2 I hope. I seem to be missing some things lately and noticed how late I was to see part one.
Hi Windwalker55, I like hearing from another outdoor guy, thank you Larry.
Jeff Part2, Home from the salt mines are you? Me too. I have to say climbing a 26 foot ladder with a boot on is a pain but doable. I wish I could say it gave me some time to relax but like you Jeff, ain't nobody else to do the work. The only time off was the trip plus a day for xrays and ct scan. No rest for the wicked, See you Jeff, take care.

Oh heck, another grand trip report from the vintage era. Funny, it looks just like yesterday to me. You do have me buffaloed with your pictures, as I feel the need to see part 2. Hopefully it will be before "vintage" turns to "ancient." Come on now, don't keep us waiting too much longer.
