Thanks John. I didn't see what kind of rig you have. Is it a 2500HD 8.1/A also?

There is one easy alternative to the fuel tank problem... Replace the 2 in 2500HD with a 3 then you won't have to worry about the added weight of the fuel! 'Course, this is just an idea for those of you who haven't thought of it yet.

I have a 45.00gal on 2001GMC8.14x4 crew. Have put 25,000.00 with tank. I love it. My dealer put it in and became a transterflow dealer.

After just completing a 5000 mile tow, we have decided to install a 65 gallon transfer flow replacement tank with a filler neck that will accomodate the larger pump nozzles. While there will almost certainly be periodic savings by being able to take advantage of lower prices at a given station, we realize any such savings will never be sufficient to pay for the tank. For me it is a security issue in that we won't have to keep a constant eye out for fueling locations when traveling through unknown country. ... Jim

I had a 45 gal. tank installed and am very happy with it. As far as the tank sitting below the frame, it is not a problem. Ask them to see the test they do to the tanks, it will make you feel safe. I live in a mountain area and go off-road quite a bit with no problems dragging the tank. It sure is nice to fill up and not have to worry about finding fuel when you are out in the boonies. I had it installed at their factory in Chico, CA and the professionalism is remarkable. Good luck!

John5206,
What year is your truck? I have an 03 and have ordered the same tank.
You said that the gauge reads correctly. My question is, if you have the 03, do you get the correct readings for the mileage range, etc. ?

I did not order the readout on my truck. I keep a log and calc. my milage from that. I always write my milage on the back of my gas tickets. Then enter it in my log when I finish my trip.
