Does anyone have any information on this TT? I've heard the all wood framing is a problem, because in time, it will rot. Is this a fact, or just a possibility?

Thanks

The wood vs. aluminum framing issue is often a heated one and both styles have their pros and cons. I'm not going to debate it. Wood has been used for decades, so obviously it can be done successfully.

Arctic Fox, on the other hand, is generally regarded as a top quality brand. Well built, good features, good customer service and even an good work environment for the employees. Nash & Arctic Fox are two brands from Northwood Manufacturing owned by Ron Nash.

If you like the floorplans & features, you would surely like your Nash or Arctic Fox unit.

Problems with wood framed trailers usually result from water intrusion into the unit. Northwood (Nash & Arctic Fox) actually pressurizes the units prior to leaving the factory looking for leaks. If any are found they are resolved then and there. They don't wait for a customer to have a problem, they know that when they leave the factory they are water tight. I suggest going to the factory for a tour if you are anywhere near one of their factories, it is a eye opening experience especially if you have toured other factories.

The only thing I would worry about with an Arctic Fox, is weather it is too heavy for your tow vehicle. Very well built trailers, made to go off road.

Like Ramcatl & Melvin says these are very well built units don't give the wood construction a second thought. Follow the link provided by Ramcatl to the new Northwood site, unfortunately they haven't got their assemble photo tour link going at this time, but you can follow the link after my signature to the Club Northwood group and view some photos taken on a recent tour of the LaGrande plant! Better yet go and see for yourself, they love showing their procedures! Once you see the way they seal their trailers you won't worry about the weather affecting your trailer frame anymore.
