Could someone verify the payload numbers for the 2 & 4 wheel models of the Armada? I saw the 1,250 to 1,350 lb from USAToday but could find no other sources with payload listing.

luvflix,
My understanding is that the information is not out yet. I will be calling Nissan today.

Does anyone know the payload limit for the Armada? I'm surprised that I can't find any info on this except the USAToday article I mentioned. The 9K towing capacity may not mean much if the payload is poor.

I called Nissan and they donot have the true numbers out for the payload also, the dealership made a error in stating that they could add the towing hitch in their shop. It must be installed from factory. I'm not sure where the lack of communication came from but, to make a long story short. I will be trading in my Armda LE for a Armda SE sometime next wk.

Pilot is a great vehicle with great drive ability in inclement weather due to its VTM or AWD style drive components.
True 4x4s have issues while driving in the urban and most suburban conditions during inclement weather, as basically one has to rely on rear wheel drive system unless the conditions are extreme as in you are stuck in the parking lot etc, even there for most people the AWD style system is a better bet.
Pilot has tow capacity for many lighter trailers such as pop-ups, hybrids and some of the lightweights out there.
It also has the ability to be a toad or FROG (Four Rolling On Ground) which is important given the upgrade pathway that most take from Trailer to Moho generally speaking!
Price of the Pilot is very reasonable.
BTW why pay for a nav system which is bolted into your car when many times you have more than one car and or also travel by commercial methods. The PDA based systems make infinite more sense for multi-tasking and multi-vehicle use and a greater ROI.
Have you checked out the tow ratings on a lowly vw van with a 210 hp engine. yep you guessed it its 4,285 pounds for a trailer with brakes! Similarly a normally aspirated Xterra has a rating for 5K! But its short wheelbase makes just handling it a challenge leave alone a trailer on its tail!
As the tail gets heavier as compared to the dog and as momentum increases the chances of the tail wagging the dog become higher.
Armada is a great fair weather family cruiser with limited off road capabilities. Once you master its handling characteristics on dirt roads it should be ok there as well. Love the advertisement with 8 people and their expedition gear all in an Armada! Or the other advertisement with all the folks on a surfing safari including the electric guitarist (who is that artist).
Enjoy life, let your guard down it happens.

The true statement should be that the accessories aren't available yet. You will be able to get the hitch as well as tow mirrors shortly. I would call 1-800-Nissan-1 to see if the Consumer affairs line can help you.

derwud,
The information was given to me by the Nissan itself. It could be that your statement is corret too. I know that last Monday the dealerahip was given a number order for the hitch but, my problem is not only the hitch. Its a sort of problems. I will keep in touch with you via pm.

RVcrazy,
For some reason the Armada didnot come with the towing package. It should have come with it. I was told by the dealership that it would not be a problem to add the towing package to it. Come to find out that it can only be install by the factory. I hope this problem is resolve soon. They are going to replace the Armada tomorrow with another one.

Since there seems to be confusion about the GVWR of the Armada, I thought I would move this back up to the recent postings.
Our Armada weighs 5540 with a full tank of gas and nobody in the truck. Gross vehicle weight rating is 6999, taken from the door jamb sticker. That leaves 1459 for everyone and everything else. It is a 4x4 loaded.
My husband is like a little kid at Christmas with our unit. We went over to eastern Washington last week. No trouble with power. Temps stayed low even out of Vantage.
