I don't know what the material is, but it looks like teflon. Has anyone else had this problem and what are any recommendations? Does it sit out in the elements all year? The weather can take it's toll on these materials and cause them to breakdown. You might want to contact a retailer that makes your brand of trailer to see how long the bag is supposed to last. Could be a material defect on yours. Just some thoughts. The part you're talking about will eventually become brittle and fail. That is exactly what's happened to mine. It's a 2000 A&E awning and the previous owner had the PU sitting uncovered in his back yard. I find this keeps my bag in good shape.
