We are thinking about finding a CG to set up as seasonal this year in or around central NC. It would be nice to be able to just grab some clothes and food and go close by. Does anyone have any info on CG's in the area and any advice about doing this. I am not looking to set up, build a deck and all that stuff I see. Just a place to be able to camp quickly.

I know there is a small campground in Old Fort NC at the foothills of the Blue Ridge that does that but I am not sure the cost. It is located on a creek. It is not fancy but my be what you are looking for. Do a web search and see if you can find it cos I forgot the name.

There is a 1000 trails located in Advance that has what you need. However, you would have to join 1000 trails to be able to use the facility. I've been there and it's very nice. Plus, if you decide you want to travel there are other 1000 trails facilities in Va and SC that are nice.

Well we do want to be able to still travel but I am not sure that the membership park is for us. Also with those parks I didnt think you could stay set up all season but I may be wrong. The other thing about the park in Advance is that I have read a few recent reviews that said the park has really gone downhill.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

Lake Myers in Mocksville has ALOT of seasonal sites. I know there is nothing around Raliegh Durham until you get to the VA line on I85. There is an Americamps there with a lot of seasonal also.

Yeah but WOW I have gone to check them out and the place looked like a dump to me. I want a seasonal site but I dont want to make it a second home like some of them do. I dont see a need to build a deck, storage building and cover everything in the "yard" with tarps. Hope I dont offend anyone here but thats just not what I am looking for but thanks for the input.

LOL. You didn't a nice campground.
Lake Myers seems like a dump to me also. But obviously alot of people don't think that way as the place is generally full. No offence taken. I wouldn't stay there one night myself, yet someone else might think its a great place. Not knowing your tastes, I suggested it as you may have found it acceptable. I personally have not visited one CG yet with alot of seasonals that *I* liked.
Good luck in your search and let us know what you find. I haven't found much within two hours from me that I like. And I'm looking as I want to make fast weekend getaways. Slim pickins for the type of CG I prefer.

Sounds like you and I are looking for the same kind of place. I want it to look just like a "normal" campsite not like I am moving my wife an kids in for the long haul. LOL I still plan on going on long weekends further away but it would make weekend trips much easier if I were already set up. Just get off work Friday grab some clothes and food and go.....stay Sunday night and get dressed for work Monday and just leave early enough to make it in on time..............I guess I am just dreaming here cause it sure doesn't look like anything fits close to me.
