Can anybody comment on interest in antique campers?
I know about the "camping historian" that lives here in CA, and
saw that piece on HGTV about the gals that refurb old trailers
and go out in groups.
With a new Lance coming any day soon I need to get rid of my
very nice 1965 Downey Pullman, but need to find the right
guy/gal/group. There are a few pictures at
http://www.urbanredneck.org/images/frank/gmc_pickup_001.JPG
and numbered sequentially up.
This is such an uncommon piece and in such good shape I have not
had much luck advertising it in the normal channels.

Hey like the idea of the sliding roof awning! Wonder why the newer rigs do not have this. Probably also keeps the camper cool in the sun eh.
Enjoy life, let your guard down it happens.

If you look carefully at the awning you will notice the channels
and snaps. A 6' * 6' canvas room goes right on. When combined
with a SunShower, this makes a perfect shower room. There lots
of other well-thought-out ideas from 40 years ago!
The "awning" is steel framed and steel sheathed. You can stand
on it when it is deployed!

Put it on Rvtrader.com and it runs until it sells. Nice rig.

Oh wow, that Pullman is very cool! Have to say that is the most classic camper I have ever seen, and perhaps one of the more uniquely layed out ones to boot.

Man, that brings back a lot of good memories, My first truck was a 1962 GMC V6, then latter had a camper very similar to yours, except the bed was a couch along the side and pulled out to a bed, ice box, at the front, with a cabnet across the front, the seal leaked and ice would melt and get your pillow wet, Went to Yellowstone June of 1975, like to froze to death. HA
Things have come a long ways, You will be delighted with the new camper. Good luck, the little ones will remember it forever. Just me and my bride. What a time we had. In fact we still love it.
Thats what its all about.
Memories.
