Ok, so I am looking at upgrading my TV (Another discussion)..
I have set my mind upon a Crew Cab 2500HD after some MORE homework, but I must ask the question..
Save for the funky front end, are there any material differences between the Silverado and the Sierra?
Thanks very much!!!

Nope, and the front end grows on you, seriously I thought it was ugly
too but the wife liked it, now I'm ok with it.
There are fewer GMC dealers and that becomes an issue with warranty work. You have to use GMC dealers while under a factory warranty.

With all the injector problems I've been reading about on this forum I'm glad I went with the Dodge 2500 CTD HO 48RE. 39K miles and all I've had to take in into the dealer for service was for a TSB. Other than that change the oil and filters and put diesel in it and git on down the road.

GMC and Chevrolet are built on the same assembly line using the same parts except for the grill front cosmetics and logos.
There are, however, some differences in how the options or option packages are put together (albeit pricing is the same for individual items).
My last truck was a GMC and my current is a Chev, only because of availability in stock of what I was shopping for.
So far not one warranty problem -- in contrast of what some Dodge and Ford owners say about GM.

Yes the Dodge note was quite helpful...
I've owned a Dodge and have no complaints. It was a ext cab dakota with the v8 and std trans.. What a right to drive (even got it on the track) but was murder in the wet\rain. Which of course is not unique to this pickup or related to my right foot.
My question came following a visit at the local GMC dealer who was quoting me 12-14 weeks on a new delivery.. May be the same for Chevy..
Not to mention service access and etc.
Thanks All..

Went from Chevy to GMC because of the grill. The salesman told me they come off the same line.
When the salesman had a hard time locating what I wanted, he even offered to find a Chevy if I was interested. Bottom line: You may be better off deciding what options you want and then see which dealer can come up with it for you.

My neighbor who lives across the street works for GMC and he says the trucks are the same, only difference is Chevy tightens all the nuts and bolts before it leaves the factory.
