I was having the same issue with my 1996 Tioga 31.5 foot. The black membrane is coming through really in small areas. I was reallly thinking about using the liquid roof or the Kool Seal product. Now I have read this thread and it sounds like his stuff is only good for about a year and thats it! I just do not have the money to lay out for a new roof $3K or more. I did like the idea of the spray on bed liner though. I just emailed the guy here who did to see how his turned out. THat could be a total fix does anyone agree?
Thanks,
Glenn

Couple of thoughts. My first concern would be coating over an unstable surface. If the white is coming off, the polymers and adhesives are in decay. So even if you coat over, they have lost their integrity, and may contribute to lifting of the new product.
I think that may be why goldendagger gets short term results.
Line-X, like other epoxies/adhesives, depends on direct surface bonding. If the surface is compromised, then the application will be less than optimal.
If it were me, I would investigate trying to remove the stuff that is flaking off. Maybe a high power pressure washer or sandblaster. Then you could decide on the product to put on. The final result will be relative to the amount of prep time put in. I spent about 90 minutes and $100.00 for the first third of my roof, but spent about six hours prepping it; scraping, feathering, scrubbing, pressure washing, degreasing, etc.
And, in the final analysis, the white stuff may not be able to be removed-I don't know. I did some experimental rubber recoatings in the military, and am trying to apply the same troubleshooting to your situation.
Just my two pennies. Good luck to you.

Well, it is official Line X stated that since it is sprayed on at 150 degrees it will melt right through the rubber and never stick. I guess I will be going with Liquid Roof. I was hoping!

I just did the liquid roof thing last weekend and it was really easy and it looks great. It took me an hour per gallon to apply. After it cures I tested it with some lacquer thinner and it did not affect it, tough stuff. You can keep the left over material in the freezer in a zip lock bag for touch-ups, as it will not cure below 55 degrees.
I used Kool Seal last year and it WAS only good for a year. This Liquid rubber stuff has a 15-year warranty and others have posted here about having it for ten years with good luck.
Show me the GRILL and STAND BACK!!!!

I had to repair a rather large hole in my 5er. The unit was nearly new and I did not want to go thru all the effort to remove all the luggage racks, vents, etc to pull the entire membrane off, so I called Dicor for their advice.
They stated that it is OK to bond the new membrane over the old as long as the old is in good shape and has good adhesion to the roof deck. You need to use special bonding adhesive (seam sealant) to join the two pieces (2 parts - 1st cleans & softens, 2nd is a contact adhesive - does not move once contact is made).
I made the repair per their directions and now been about 6 months and no issues at all - no leakes, separation, etc.
