What can I put down the sink and shower drains to neutralize odor. Also we have slimy substance at the end of the drain hose. Any ideas how to flush that out? Can I use Bleach.

Are you using any type of odor eater or cleaner in your drains now? It sounds like your not. We use cleaner EVERY TRIP out. The blue stuff (forgot the name). After unpacking from each trip I drop a little Mr. Clean or Pinesol down each trap and then close the drain traps. This keeps any odor out of the TT. Good luck!

If you want to stay away from chemicals, my mom used to put lemon juice in the kitchen drain at home. About 1/2 a bottle of RealLemom.
The 'slimy' stuff is a build up of soap. Maybe in the future take care to not overdo it with the washingup liquid or shampoo.

Not knowing what the slimy stuff is I would say a little bleach in the drains let set for awhile then run watter to flush it into the gray tank . If you have something growing in there ,that should kill it. Next trip fill the gray tank half way and add some bleach . It will slosh around and get stuff broke loose. When you get to the campgroung drain the tank. Should help.

All sinks end up with that kind of buildup. Both in an RV and at home. It's soap thats decaying. The only real way of getting rid of it is to disassemble the trap and wipe it out. Then use some bleach to kill the remaining decay. Removing the trap is the correct way because this stuff is like sludge. If you managed to get it dislodged from the trap and it went down the pipe to the grey tank. It might just get stuck there or some where along the pipe. Its a whole lot eisier to remove a sink trap than anywhere else in an RV.

I am glad to have these helpful hints as I have a new TT.
At home I put baking soda down the drain, pour vinegar on the top, let it bubble up and then rinse with hot water. It kills the smell.

Ok. What do you put down your drains?? Food, drinks, ect. are a NO!! NO!!! It sit in the tank and STINKS!! It will leave a residue.
