Is it against the law for someone to be in the fifth wheel while it's in motion? I understand that it's not allowed for trailers, but how about 5th wheel trailers. Do you need some kind of communication device? I've always wondered about taking a nap while on the road...hmmmmm

I think it is legal in some states, but it is dangerous and not a smart idea in ALL states.

If you do a search, you will see that this topic has been discussed many times. Mostly people are against it. I have heard it is not even safe for pets.

Thank you for the tip about "search" for the topic. I'm just getting the hang of the search feature. I'll go look now....

The ride would be terrible. Why would you want someone to ride in your 5ver??? Seatbelts????????? An RV will explode if involved in a collision.KB

No, it's not the seatbelt thing...I just remember when we had our little Tioga C class motorhome and when I was tired or stiff from sitting in the front seat I used to climb up into the overhead bunk and snooze a little while. It was so comfortable and easy to do. I guess it would be rather bumpy in the 5th wheel trailer...I know that stuff bounces around in there while we're driving. I probably would never actually "do" it, but I was curious about the laws and such...
Thanks, Patty P
