Hi, just thought I would post this tip given to me by a friend a while back. I have never been able to pump diesel without getting the smell on my hands either from the cap or the pump. My friend suggested using toothpaste to wash hands with. We happen to have that crest minty smell stuff. So I have been doing it lately and seems like it works pretty dang well. Just put on hands add a little water and let soak for a minute they rinse off. Even with a little bit of mint smell it it a hundred times better than the smell of diesel.

I have a pair of heavy leather work gloves I use whenever I stop for fuel. I've had these gloves ever since I've had a diesel truck and I use them. I've not yet had the smell of diesel, or diesel fuel, on my hands yet. I just keep the gloves under the front seat of the truck.

We don't have that problem at the gas pumps, That comes with owning a diesel, get used to it.

Gloves and to keep fuel off the gloves I grab a couple of paper towels and cradle the nozzle in that. About 200,000 miles on 2 Rams, and NEVER a diesel smell in the truck.

We carry some throw away gloves and also a container of handy wipes in the truck. If the fuel island is really dirt, we look else where, or use the gloves. Otherwise the wipes do the job.
