I saw on cnn that FOXFIRE 1.0, the new Mozilla browser has been released. Foxfire is a replacement for Internet Explorer. I downloaded a copy and am impressed with it. I particularly like the way it lets me EASILY organize my BOOKMARKS or FAVORITES. Yes, it quickly imported my bookmarks from Internet Explorer. (I guess it's been out a while in beta, but officially released now.)

Available at http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
It is a FREE download

I had one problem getting a flash banner ad to load, but then I almost never click on banner ads anyway. I also have issues with IE, so I'll give Mozilla a good try out. IE won't save some pages I want in my files. Netscape and Foxfire save them no problem. IE FAVORITES are very hard to organize.......in my opion.

I've been using FF 1.0 all day and it does seem faster than IE 6.0. I do like the Tabbing.

Looks a lot like the old Netscape browser to me.

I had to reload flash after I installed 1.0. The page with a flash requirement had a link a the top to get the plug in.

Netscape spawned Mozilla...

"In January of 1998, the corporation Netscape made the announcement that it would stop selling its web browser, Netscape Navigator, and many other web applications. Not only would these products now be free, but Netscape would open up the source code to them all, including Navigator, their web browser. Now the general public could create an open-source web browser, where the source code would be viewable and editable to all. On March 31, 1998, all eight megabytes of code were released to the public by the Mozilla group, the few programmers who organized together and received Netscape’s grant to be responsible for managing the code and distributing it for free."
