Does anyone know what is going on with this campground? I heard through the grapevine that the owners had sold the campground and now a corporate company owes it. Apparently, they had actually bought several campgrounds throughout that area early Fall. I tried to go to their website, but it's offline now. Just curious if anyone had heard anything.

Very possible it was purchased by some other party. My Pennsylvania CG guide for a previous year lists the owners as Jim & Sylvia Cox. The 2005 PA CG guide lists Appalachian Campsites as before but there is no owner or managers name listed.

There has been a small boom in real estate in that area ever since Cabela's opened (just north of the I-78/PA Rt. 61 interchange) last year. Area CG's have raised their rates to transients a little bit; raised their rates to seasonals a lot. One CG owner told me they make more money off the transient crowd so some seasonal contracts are not being renewed in their CG.

I haven't heard anything about that yet. We had plans to stay there the first weekend in April. I will keep checking and if I hear anything I will let you know.

I forgot to tell you that I did manage to get onto their site a few weeks ago. I wouldn’t swear to it, but I thought I looked at the 2005 activities schedule. We had made plans to stay there the opening weekend since they had 50% off. Now the site if off line. Maybe they just forgot to pay the bill

I think I might take a trip up there this weekend, I'll see what is going on, if there is someone to talk to me. I'll let you all know what I find out.

Campground is still up and running....yes a corporation has bought the place "Diversified Investments". They have new managers & new asst. managers. They were actually there redoing/painting the main building and working on things indoors since it's cold. For winter months if you are coming in late, you can find a spot and then pay in the office in the morning (something a little different than before). That area had terrible rains for 3 days so some of the sites had water still standing on them - there are apparently some sites that the new managers know about that have been a "water" problem and they said come spring they would like to fix them. There were some people there, mainly some seasonals doing some work, and 2 or 3 transits. One of the bathhouses is open (has 5 individual bathrooms in it)- all are heated and clean. The other bathhouse was closed for the winter. So only time will tell on how it goes come warmer weather. **I did ask about their website and they said they are redoing it**

To my fellow campers...

WISCONSIN DELLS, WI FEELS YOUR PAIN !

I feel your pain ! as well as all the other campers at our campground in Wisconsin... purchased by Diversified Investments.

DI bought our campground (Arrowhead Resort Campground) late in 2004,
Made us a ton of promises... kept none...

I've been a seasonal camper there with my family for the past 8 years.

Have you checked out their website ? www.rvinthesun.com ? yeah have fun there...

Anyway, I don't have a lot of time to type in here... but be careful of this company and any campground they own... I think they could write a book entitled, How to ruin a succesful campground business in less than a year...

The rules and policies are rediculous let me list what I can remember, every week has been a new rule, and new policy... I think they don't want people to camp there...

- no food or drink of any kind in pool area
- no lights in trees (you know camping lights on a string)
- no requesting sites for weekenders
- fees for everything bottom line with this place is $$$$$$
- no drinks (alcohol) off your site, unless in a covered container
- 50.00/mo fee to store a boat in a field
- must skirt all trailers
- only 6 people on a contract can stay at trailer
- increased fees for guests

the past 3 weekends has had only 8 people in the park as weekenders... this park has ~220 weekend sites available. All the hired help has quite.

My family loved to go to Arrowhead, every weekend from 4/15 - 10/15, not any more, this will be our last year, we are moving out...

ARROWHEAD is not recomended, and from what I read, stay away from any Diversified Investment, owned campgrounds ! use the link above, and know what to avoid...

you will be treated like trash.... This company has no clue on how to run a campground, nor how to look for managmenet of campgrounds that have any customer service....

as I asked one of the workers as they quite this past weekend, where are you going...? "ANYWHERE BUT HERE ! "

Sorry, not enought time to elaborate this afternoon.. gotta run
