I'm in the process of changing tires on my TV. I have Goodyear Wranglers LT 215/85/16 D-Rated on now. Have 25000 on tires now, we are going on a long trip this summer and I'm right at the point of worrying about if the tires are going to make it, so decided to get some new ones. Have checked out different tires, and have checked at Big O at their tires. I don't know much about them but do like their warranty. Rotate every 5,000, complete replacement of tire up to 3/32 tread, road hazard complete replacement. So that is why this has attracted my attention. I'm going to a E-Rated tire and possibly steel belted tire also (depends on the price). Does anyone know about the Big-O brand tire?

Bill:

I put Big-O tires on my Excursion about 2 years ago. Although I don't think you can beat the service I get at Big-O, I'm still undecided if I will put their tire on again. They are about worn out and they currently have about 30,000 miles on them. I guess I'm just used to tires lasting a little longer. A friend of mine recommended that next time I put on the Goodyear Wranglers (the same ones you are taking off).

I can't tell you anything about Big-O brand tires but they do have great service and good prices on several other brands. While traveling in Colorado, I discovered that I had made a poor choice of tires for my Land Cruiser. The manager at Big-O in Durango gave me full credit toward the purchase of a set BFGOODRICH ALL TERRAIN T/A KO tires even though my tires had over a thousand miles on them and were not purchased from Big-O. I have since purchased other tires from Big-O and rely heavily on the store manager to know what is best for my needs.

This was a timely post for me. I just visited the local Big O dealer to look at tires. Later this year I will need to replace the Wrangler RTSs that came as original equipment. I have been looking at AT tires since the RTSs have no traction to speak of on any surface. Love everything about the Goodrich All Terrain TAs except the price. A set of 265/70/17s will cost over $900. The Big O Big Foot AT is $50 per tire cheaper and has the better warrenty. I'm going to poll people around town who have had Big O tires to see how they felt but I think I will be giving them a try. Big O has a dealer network in a bunch of states which could be handy if I tear up a tire on the road.

Around here Big-O's service and warranty cannot be beat. I've bought several sets of tires from them and am going to be putting some new ones on the F-150 in a couple of months.

cant say enough about big O tires, I have had 6 sets and love them. i have also used the warranty a few times, it is a true no questions asked. I got nearly 70K miles out of the X/T version, the more aggressive all terrain. if they made the tire for a 17" wheel I would be running them now versus the BFG A/Ts.
