The geniuses at Forrest River did not offer a range hood external vent. The hood blows the bacon fumes into my forehead! Any body add a CW exterior vent? If so any tips or tricks to drilling the big hole in the side of a new fiberglass rig?

I have the 2006 29RLBS and the range hood is vented outside. You have to unlock the flapper on the outside wall or nothing gets out. The 2005 Factory brochure shows the outside vent. This would be true for Indiana built units - not sure about the Oregon west coast units.

My new Winnebago has the same issue. There is not an outside vent. I have had the Microwave out to do some wiring so. What a dumb idea. No reason to blow the fan at all. I hope someone has a good idea. Couldn't be that difficult to put one in. Maybe the factory just forgot. I just saw a toy box that they forgot to put the door stop on. Nice dent in the side of the unit already.

The solution is not to buy them. They would not make them if people didn't buy them.

Now for some reason I thought it was not real safe to run the gas oven without the exhaust fan running. How about CO generated by the oven? Do you not have to use the exhaust to vent those gases outside and have a window or roof vent cracked to bring in fresh air when using the oven and/or stove?

I installed two windows in my TT. Mine is an ultra lite, it's 3/16 wood on the outside and inside sandwiched on a styrofoam type of center construction. I drilled a 1/4" diameter whole, and used a jigsaw with a FINE tooth (for Metal). It took a while to cut it but the cut went slow and I didn't make any mistakes.

If you opt to use a hole saw, it would be much faster and easier to do in one shot; However drill from the outside in, and after you've gone about 1/2 way, come inside and drill towards the outside. You shouldn't have any punch through that way.

Just remember whatever you do, take it slow, measure at least 4 times and then take a break before you drill/cut.

Why through the side and not through the roof so the wall doesn't get stained, among other benefits?
