Hi - Does anyone know of a campground in or around Cookeville Tennessee? We would prefer full hookups because we plan to be there awhile. We aren't aware of anything in Cookeville and may have to go to either Lebanon or Crossville. But just wondered if anyone had any ideas.

What are you looking for around Cookeville. Baxter has a new campgroung but never stayed there yet. We prefer Salt Lick or Defeated Creek both nice clean campgrounds. If you want something away from everybody try Indian Mound near Chestnut Mound, Tn about 20 mins from Cookeville of Dale Hollow Dam site near Celina,Tn. Anything around Center Hill will be full..... Hope this helps Let me know what you are looking for and I'll try and help....

Patrick - Where is Baxter located? I have heard of Baxter but don't know how to get there. We are wanting to spend 5 or 6 days in Cookeville. We would prefer 30 amp, water and sewer if possible. We have 2 kids so pool and/or playground would be a plus. What campgrounds would you suggest? Thanks for your reply.

Don't know of any...I never plan on visiting there since Cookeville PD shot and killed that poor familys' dog back in January. Just don't take your pets, they use them for target practice.

CobbCamp If you are serious, you have an asinine perspective; and if you aren't serious, it isn't funny anyway.
Imjmann Hiya... We also prefer Saltlick or Defeated Creek. Both of them are about 45 min drive from Cookeville. They don't have pools but they do have large spacious lots available right on the lake and a lot have full hookups. Go to Reserveusa.com and you can find them.
Fall Creek falls is about 30/35 min drive from Cookeville and is a beautiful campground, but not on a lake.
There is a small new campground just north of Baxter that has a couple catfishing ponds on it; but as I drive by, they don't really strike me as the kind of place I would like to 'camp' in an rv other than if I was fishing there; but some may like it.
Hope this helps...

Cobb,
I haven't forgotten a thing. It is your attitude toward it that is immature. Things have happened in Ky over the past years to horses that are cruel and inhumane and no one I know of here advocates boycotting ky.
Luckily most people look at misfortunes like happened here with a more intelligent view.
The original post involved looking for a campground near Cookeville. Your 'issue' has nothing to do with the orignal post to begin with.
Take care.
