Does anyone know of a transport service that will get the 5er home in case of medical emergency. My husband is unable to drive it home and we are stuck in McAllen, Tx.

Gloria - can't you drive it? I'm sure if you contact dealerships around Texas someone will know of a transport company (or one of their drivers) who might be able to help you out.

As for transport companies, I just used JAMB Transport to ship my 40ft 5th wheel from Indiana to Washington state. Received four quotes and while they were not the lowest, they were more flexible (all were within about $100 of each other). Excellent service. They even had the 5th wheel set up at destination for our arrival. Would recommend them without hesitation. For more information about JAMB, call Gina at (866)523-3611.

Or, you can go to http://www.findahauler.com and submit a request for bids and different transporters will respond via email with their quote to accomplish the job.

Good Luck.

Sorry to hear about your hubby. we'll pray for you today!! It is too bad that your final destination isn't up my way or I might offer to tow it for fuel just to try out my new hitch. My 5er isn't coming in for another month yet and I am anxious to test drive with this air ride hitch system!

Good luck to you!

My neighbor hauls for a living and is fully licensed and insured. He moves loads, horses and fifth wheels. He and his wife operate the company Heaven Sent Transport here in Pensacola, FL. They are nice folks.

Gloria, do you have a son, son in law, brother, ??? that could drive it home? You might come out ahead to fly him to you and let him drive home. That was always my mother's plan if something happened while they were traveling - call my husband! Now, they aren't traveling, so we bought their old rv.

Thanks for all your help. I have never driven the 5er (37' long) and really nervous about it, but might have to. My worries are in heavy traffic or construction. Thanks for the prayers, it doesn't look good since the cancer has spread to the brain, but we just want to get back home as soon as they let him. He wants one more camping trip home! thanks again

I used to be leased to Southeastern Trailer Transport of Durant, OK. They are honest people, and insured, etc. Perhaps not cheap, but you never know. Their website is www.southeasterntrailers.com

Their phone number (toll free) is (877) 924-6961.

I'm assuming you would drive the TV home?
