Gloria -
Lots of good suggestions already. You didn't say the
urgency of the move - - Immediate? Couple of days? A week?
And - transported -TO- - Richmond, VA ?
Try calling an RV (5th wheel) dealer where you are.
[Or how about your 5er mfgr - factory?]
ALL 5ers are delivered from the mfgr via drivers with
(usually) their own tow vehicles. The tow vehicles are
always dually trucks capable of (usually any) 5er.
Most come out of Indiana - and (I assume) return "empty".
Are there any deliveries in the next few days? [Ask if]
the RV dealer give you some insight on possibility of
this? Might be able to work something out.
Note: I think the mfgrs charge approx $1.00 to $1.30
per mile (factory to destination). So a paid "return"
might be negotiable - including the "detour".
Thoughts & Prayers!

Gloria,
Let us know how things are going? Have you contacted any of the suggestions that have been given. I'm in New Mexico right now or I'd pull it for you. Hopefully someone will PM you with a solution to the problem. Again keep us informed.

If you are looking for someone to drive your tow vehicle and rv back to your home I might can help but I have some questions, and as well, you should have questions about myself? I do not do that sort of thing for a living but would be willing to help a fellow rver out in a time of need. I live in Texas, I am semi retired and have no plans for a couple of weeks. Please feel free to e-mail me at michael_e_adle@yahoo.com to discuss further.

I am very sorry to hear of your problems. I will ask my wife to put you and your husband on her prayer list.
Standby Sams (if you are a Good Sam Member) may be your answer. They are in existence for just this type of situation. Here is a link to Standby Sams in Texas.
Good luck.

Gloria,
Sorry to hear about your husband, thoughts and prayers are on the way. I just returned from Louisiana after hauling FEMA campers for 5 months. I am insured with on hook insurance up to $25,000.00. I do own and pull a 5er(my home away from home while in LA) The only Problem that I see is my truck is not a dually and if you have a 38ft 5er it would probably exceed my towing capacity.
Do you possibly just need a driver for your tow vehicle? If thats the case I can give you names and phone numbers of about 150 drivers with cargo insurance that are no longer hauling in La. and are looking for jobs.
Feel free to private message me if this could work for you.

Gloria, for a truly nice man that has done this for many many years throughout the entire country try Doug McFarland at 520-247-8848 or 520- 360-1840. Doug is the kind of guy that would help any time, any place.

Gloria - you need to repost your progress on how your coming finding an answer to your problem..... Keep this forum informed.....Are you and your husband a member of the www.montanaowners.com forum ???? I would like an update from you if possible. I would think if nothing else... We could try and work out some sort of ""RELAY EFFORT"" I think there would be plenty of drivers with vehicles that would volunteer to pull 200 250 miles and that way they could also return to there own home that same day... It would take some time to organize but I think it could be done... Kinda like the pony express....Let us know what's going on.... John H.
