I have met a lot of nice people on this forum. Have truly enjoyed reading everyone's take on Mexico. The good times and the problems are always interesting. Almost makes travelling NOB(north of the border )boring. This morning I thought: Why not have an informal rally IN MEXICO! Naturally I thought that Kino would be a good place for the rally. I could get help from Sonora Tourism. Could even arrange a guide to accompany the meek or newbies from the border to Kino. I could arrange a tour of the Seri Indian Village and also find charter boats for those that want to fish. There are a few forum members here who I am sure would help (are you reading this Bill?) I used to be Good Sam president and did organize a few Samborees (100 rigs) in Canada. I picked Kino as a site for a few reasons: close to the border for people who have never been to Mexico, no car permits required, lots of empty land that could be used for dry camping. I would like some input from others: good or bad idea?,how many would attend?, what activities would people like, any other ideas, etc.???

If it's after Feb 1 of any year, I'd not only attend, I'd help! Altough I hope you are planning on doing this AFTER the road is done No use subjecting people to that mess.
You could probably get some backing from the various RV parks also.

I would love to attend as it would be my first trip with the RV into Mexico. The idea of having some help at the border is great. Count me in.

Sounds like fun. I would be interested in going. Jan. of Feb would work great. I've been wanting to go to Mexico but the tours are so expensive and I've been afraid to go by myself.

Never been to Mexico but it's on my list of places to go. Recently retired and bought a 5th wheel last September. Our son lives in Gold Canyon AZ and we could visit him on the way. Keep us posted.

Sound like you have a good idea Marvin. If work and time permit I would be glad to both be there and help out. By fall the road should be completely finished I think and weather wise anything between end of September to May 20 is probable great. You know the spring and fall better for weather than I do so as to try to avoid the real rainy season. Some thoughts on a rally point for those who want to caravan would be either the rest point north of Nogales or the casino South of Tuscon, otherwise, Km 21 in Mexico is always a stop for most everyone. I will be in Kino May 12-15 to check on the house and if you are around would be happy to talk to you then. How much more of the road is completed?
