I am looking for info on mounting a carefree f45 10' box awning on my 1988 alpenlite 9.9 durango. I need to know where to drill the holes for mounting the box to the camper wall. I found a used one cheap but didn't get any directions with it.

I know very little about mounting awnings but I do know that when an installer can find something solid to screw into he will use screws. When there is nothing solid they use rivets. However a 10 foot awning I am sure has to be secrewed into something pretty solid. I would think anywhere near the top you would hit something solid. I would test dril along the longest vertical line below the roof, that is where trailer awnings are typicalling installed. I have installed one Carefree window awning and there really isnt much in the way of instructions.
