Hi:
Thanks for all the comments/suggestions. After further review, we will wait and find a decent used 2500 and have a more substantial choice of TC. Thanks for the responses.

Its been stated here on several occasions but the best way to go about this is to pick the camper first, then find the truck to suit it.

Yep, you will much better off with a 3/4 ton truck.
Good Luck,

As an added piece of advise, read all you can on these boards about trucks. Also about reported camper weights, tires, wheels, suspension upgrades etc. Depending on what camper you want you could easily need as much truck as a 3500 dually or even bigger. Check out the sticky subjects at the top of the page to get started. If you spend a little time researching the subject you will be much better off in the long run. This site has all the required information and links to camper manufacturers and equipment suppliers so as to understand just exatly what you are getting into. Spending this time could actually save you thousands of dollars in the end.
Best of Luck!
PS: As you arrive at new questions-ask! Many here are very knowlegable.

when I was looking at truck campers, the first question they asked was what truck did I have. I pointed out I didn't have the truck yet. they agreed with your statement, see what you want to carry first or at least get an approximate true weight.
