My current portable grill does a pretty good job but it is a bit bulky & heavy. My research has turned up a couple of Coleman grills that might be just what I need.
Coleman PerfectFlow™ InstaStart™ Propane Camp Grill
Coleman 2 Burner Electronic Ignition Propane Grill Stove
This last one has a smaller grill area but I don't need much for the two of us. Having the regular burner would mean I wouldn't need to take along the propane stove also (used for day trips).
For either one I'd have to find something to use as a lid for keeping heat in.
Any comments, good & bad, are invited.

We have the first one you list. And love it! I know someone who has the second one you list and they are very happy with. It would not work for us though due to lack of grilling area.

I have the first model you posted a pix of. I full time and have found it to be acceptable. I even carry it on our pontoon boat for day outings. The only drawback I have found is the burner-top is a little heavy when trying to clean it, of course my wife uses that as a excuse for me to have to do it. All kidding aside either one will store easily in a small space and the grill has not shown any signs of break down after two years of very heavy use.
The fan always wins

I have the second model and love it for the exact reason you mentioned.
At one time Coleman offered that grill with two styles of fuel canisters. The first one I purchased used propriatory cans of fuel not available everywhere so I exchanged it for the one that uses standard 1# bottles.
Be sure to get the latter of the two styles of fuel.

I have he first one and like it very well but I wish I had the second. I have a TC and I needed something compact.

I have the second one, comes with a griddle, which is what I use it for....
I dont fry ANYTHING inside the TT, and the kids like the hotcakes.
My BBQ is a portable gas WEBER.....on my second one in 12 years.....
I use a Coleman tree(have for years)to get away from those $$$$ little bottles.

I have one like the top one.. they aren't a grill, they are a stove...
The problem is that they don't have a cover so all of the heat comes from the bottom instead of baking as well like a normal grill. I got by with it but I now have a grill that mounts to the TT that I use...
I wouldn't buy another.

I have the one on top. Works great for searing things fast. But if you want to slow cook anything, forget it. Even with the regulator turned all the way down, it is still too hot. It will do for now, but I will look for something different next time.
