Got the tires put on yesterday. Highway to CG 'is' rough so I didn't think anything about it, UNTIL......

Today I drove it to the dealership about 15 miles away and whole MH shakes, and not from bad balancing just road shakes, every hairline crack in the road and the back end goes over them with a wham, slam, and I mean a 'big' wham, slam!

Got off the interstate via a ramp and damn near killed myself, front end handling zero. Went over a well compacted gravel road and it was like driving on marbles.

The best thing about this MH is it drives and handles like a luxury car, that is until yesterday.

I think this guy put the 'wrong' type of tires on. He's been a great source for my SUV's no complaints, but perhaps he doesn't know******about tires for MH's.?

Need someone here on ther forum that knows their tires so I can go back tomorrow loaded for Bear AND informed, why these are the wrong tires and to get this guy to take them back and give me a refund.

Here is the MasterCraft link for all the LT tires. They all DO differ in one catagory or another.
And sadly I do not know what all the specs mean in reference to which ones SHOULD have been ordered for a MH.
http://www.mastercrafttires.com/html/tir........ector_bySize.aspx?twtd=225&artw=75&rd=16

Please Help!
Where DID this tire center go wrong when they ordered these tires for my MH.?

The only thing I see is, my LT's have the lowest tread depth and have an N after the size, all the rest have a Q. And that R/D after the name has me suspicious it means Rough Driving!

Here is what they put on: Courser R/D Lt225/75R16 115/112N

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Rock

Too much air in the tires for the weight of the MH?

First thing I thought it might be was that I had only a 1/4 tank of gas and no water on board, so I filled it up with gas and there was no difference. And I'm always am pushing the limits on my CCC.

It certainly sounds like tire inflation issue. Of course if you are pushing or exceeding your CCC then you may need max pressure.

Had Firesstones on before running with 80 lbs. = perfect ride/handling
New tires are rated for 80, and that's what is in them

What do you suggest for a lower yet safe pressure?

Go to the tire manufactures web site and check the tire inflation table for your size tire and weight. Some new tires require less air pressure to carry the same weight and some require more.

Mastercraft doesn't have one but I found the goodyear chart.

http://www.goodyear.com/rv/pdf/rvbrochure.pdf page 16 and 17

Perhaps the Firestones I had on before weren't constructed as well as these and HAD to have 80 lbs to carry the load? Yet at 80 psi with those tires I had a exceptional comfortable ride.

Those that have Michlen's on their RV what pressure are you running and what is the descripion of the size of the tire.?

Where does the line get drawn when randomly lowering the pressure to obtain a stable ride versus unsafe inflation?

Mastercraft doesn't have one because they are probably made in China. I'll bet a dozen donuts that you'll find one or more out or round or the belts have already begun to separate. Do a search here for Mastercraft. I would bet there are several posts on them.

I decided on these because they WERE Made in the USA.
The tires are 1 day 6 hours old.
