Tell you a little story.
Had a o6 Neptune HR. Before I took delivery I changed the tires up 2 sizes to 285 from 265 and put on michelin XZA. Well the moment I took the coach it was like riding on 6 square tires. Every crack in the road was a BAM. When I got time to check the tire pressure I had 105 lbs in all six tires. This was corrected to 85 front and 80 rear. It road like a Roadmaster should ride after that. As said above check you pressure

If you are pushing the max weight limit on your rig...inflate the tires COLD at the inflation pressures shown on the placard inside the coach. Its listed so as to be able to support the MAXIMUM weight your coach is allowed to handle.

Take for a LONG test drive..20 miles or more. IF..IF the ride is still rougher than a cob...drive straight back to the tire dealer and demand he remove them and install a different brand of tire.

Mastercraft is a Cooper brand. You might try calling Cooper, 419-423-1321, and ask to speak with a tire engineer. I've done that and got very good information. Note how similar that tire is to Cooper's commercial SRM II

Those tires look right. I would have probably put your rig on either LT215/85R16 or LT235/85R16, but that's not a big deal. Ask Cooper. Please let us all know what you find out.

I'm free of prostate cancer for 5 years now.
All men over age 50 should get an annual PSA blood test. Mine had a low reading, but the yearly jump was significant. The biopsy showed cancer just entering the aggressive stage. Dr. Hackenslash removed it.

The reference to the word 'commercial' has me concerned that comfortable ride and handling may not be part of this particular tire.

THANK YOU for the phone number!
Hopefully they can help me figure out what's going on with these tires. Will check back with what they say. Thanks again.

What tires did you have on it originally? Not just brand, what size and model of tire.

This is where I am going to start to try and find out why the handling on these are so bad, I am going back to the tire center today to get the 'size' AND 'model' number off the old tires and try and have him compare them to these new ones to see where he went wrong.20+ years of buying tires and never had anything like this happen.

For what its worth,
I had Cooper SRM II (235-16") tires put on my class A a month ago BECAUSE I noticed a bubble on the side dual of the almost new tire that was there already.

I had bought this 34' HR two weeks earlier and had inspected all six tires noticing they were all manufactured in 2007, thinking I'd not have tire worries for awhile. NOT!
The Cooper dealer looked at the rest of the tires and said, "These tires may fit, but they are the wrong tire for this- you are looking for problems". When we dismounted the tires we found splits on the inside of both tires. The dealer said these were heat related to running them as duallies.(No, they did not touch each other)
He honored Cooper's warranty and replaced those two split tires and gave me a price on the others so he could sell them as used tires since they were so new.
He said they were tires designed for off and on road pickups. HE recommended the commercial SRM II as a good tire for this purpose. Driving on these feels much different (and lot better).

UPDATE:
Went back to the tire store. Owner was VERY understanding and did not have one problem with taking them off and putting on whatever I wanted.

Read and read and read spec sheets all night long.
What I discovered was the ride and handling is pretty much determined by how hard the sidewall is. Yes, the harder the sidewall the better it's going to handle real heavy loads. But the MH 'ride' falls 'somewhere' between commercial heavy duty tires and passenger tires.

The Firestone tires I did have on the MH definetly had softer sidewalls which I had on the duals. I was just going to replace all the tires with what I had on before, except Firestone changed that particular tire, and not knowing if they beefed up the sidewall we passed on that.

I certainly couldn't have this tire center putting on and ripping off tires for me all week long.

Sooo, I ordered 6 new Michelin® LTX® M/S for the MH.

HERE IS THE ONE TIP I LEARNED, that could be some of the problems we have when replacing MH tires.
There is a 'speed rating' for all tires. Not that any of us are going to drive at the speed they are rated for, BUT it does have a direct effect on handling, and you might not know that you have replaced your tires with a 'lower' speed rating tire. Higher the letter in the alphabet the better. AND this letter is NOT on the tire itself.
So if you buy a lower cost tire, it could very well be a lower rating.

Here is the disclaimer I found on 'every' spec sheet for every tire company.
"When a customer requests a replacement tire with a lower speed rating than the original equipment tire, you must clearly communicate to him or her that the handling of the vehicle may be different, and that its.."

Those first tires I bought were a N speed rating. Most are a Q rating. My Michelins will be a S rating.

I'll get back to you on Tuesday to let you know how they handle...after I go to the bank and withdraw the extra $$$$$$ it's going to cost to put those bad boys on my MH.
