Old news. But thanks for the heads up for the people who don't know. Mods should make this a sticky.
And pray tell, why should the Mods make this half truthful myth a sticky?

So why would a meth dealer buy a propane tank, drain all the propane out, put his chemicals in, and the when it runs out, take it back to the store to get another bottle full of propane?

Why would he not just refill the bottle he already has?

This makes no sense.

Better yet, wouldn't the meth cooker go to Costco, Walmart, Big R, Tractor Supply, a hardware store, Cenex farm store, etc. and get a new, empty tank to steal his anhydrous ammonia with?
Oh, right, he is doing his cooking out in the woods on a camp stove, and he needs the propane for the stove, then when it gets empty he uses it to steal the AA from a local farmer, then when it is empty again he goes and trades it for a full propane tank.
right.

These tanks are not refilled at Walmart! They go back to the LP providers where they are inspected, cleaned , pressure tested then filled.
