I've read a lot about new diesel's not being able to use lo-sulf, er fuel because it is harmful to the motor. What about 90 to 95 diesels which wern't made to use lo-sulfer is the new fuel harmful to these trucks and how does it effect milage and power?

They are supposed to be able to use ULSD with no issues.

What kind of a diesel do you have?

Your diesel (assuming it is less than 40 years old) was designed to use low-sulfur diesel and will have no problems using Ultra-low sulfur diesel.

If your concerned about the lubricity of ULSD put some 2 cycle oil in with your fuel. It's about 8 dollors a gallon at Walmart. Make sure it's the ashless/smokeless stuff. TC-W3 I think. It's in a blue jug.

This is an unbiased factual study. The only thing I don't like about it is that they used ULSD prior to it receiving it's lubrication package. Most sources state that the lubrication package that producers use meets or exceeds standards. However, I've also read studies that some companies go light on the lubricants to help their bottom line.

That is why I always add a little "Marvel Mystery Oil" to every tank of diesel. A little extra lubricity may save the day "pump, injectors, ect."

My 94 CTD ran fine on ULSD, and no additives ever.

I only put fuel in the tank. The only issue I have had is the Bio Diesel junk in the winter time.

Goodcruisin: That was the study that i watched closely for months. Spicer did a great job. Thus the reason for me using SoyPower. After 2 plugged fuel filters and 9 months of use. The soypower has cleaned my fuel system up. Thus slightly quieting down the 7.3L injectors.
For those even interested--> I use 10oz-per 30 gal.
