Did anyone keep track of which manufacturers closed shop this summer?
I know the one in Penticton BC closed, but are there any other ones?
It could be a problem for warranty work if you buy one of their products still in the lots.

Paoli;
We spent three weeks on Okanagan Lake this past summer and part of our annual ritual is to go and look at new units when it rains. I was told two weeks ago by what I consider a reliable source that Okanagan RV's are closing their doors for good on September 12th, and that General Coach is moving their Citation and Corsair division to the US. If this is true, it's a sad, sad thing as both of these manufacturers produce very high quality products. In fact, we looked at some new Okanagan units in Kelowna and no one on the sales staff said anything about the company closing and the prices certainly did not reflect "OK" being in trouble.
Maybe a BC dealer will see your thread and shed some light on this disturbing news.

Arctic Fox (Northwoods) closed down their TC branch (until such time as demand in that segment picks up) but the parent company is still in business making 5vrs and TTs with the stated intent of honoring all warranties.

I heard that Big Foot has been cutting hours.
There are several manufacturers in British Columbia.
Northern Light, Big Foot, Snow River, Citation, just to name a few.
Triple E is made in Manitoba.
Maybe there are more, I think there's another one near Abbotsford BC.

How would they handle warranty claims when the manufacturer has closed shop.
They should sell at lower prices.

The company handles the structure warranty your fridge furnace and everything is handled by who ever made them for 2 years.Thats a good question if they move to the US a person should be able to go over there and have a repair done. Going out of business who knows.

Adventurer units are made in Abbotsford.........as far as warranty goes, the OEM equipment should be covered through any dealer/shop, as Gary says but I'm not sure how they plan to cover structural defects...........on your own, I guess.
It's been my experience if you purchased your unit from a different dealer than the one you use close to home, even obvious OEM repairs go to the bottom of the list.
Case in point was the recent Dometic fridge recall. Because we bought out unit in the Okanagan, my local dealer (where I buy all my small stuff) told me it would take six weeks to get into the shop. I drove down the street and they did the fix while I waited....obviously, they have a new customer.
