Made my trip to Nogales, Son., MX today. Diesel is now 6.11 peso/liter and there is a limit of 250 liters/purchase. This was also true for the Mexican Buses crossing over into the USA. Any vechile bound for the USA has a 250 liter limit purchase. When I got to the border, USA Customs ask for the receipt for proof of purchase and when was the last time I had purchased Diesel in Mexico. I passed thu without any problems. My truck only holds a little more than 250 liters/85 gallons, so both tanks registered as full. They have tighten up A LOT!

I received this email today from Pemex regarding ULSD. You now have a contact for any questions:

Estimado Sr. Christopher Bauer Bruns

Help! I forgot to add the Excel list of over 100 PEMEX stations and their locations that sell ULSD along the border. How can I do that?

So what are the rules for returning with fuel in your tanks? What was customs looking for when they asked for the receipt? And whats the deal on when you last purchased Diesel in Mx? My truck holds 100 Gallons and I'd like to be able to return with tanks full of cheap Pemex Diesel. We usuallo go to Kino for a couple of months.

You cannot attach an Excel file to a post. You can place the file on a file hosting site and then add a link to it in your post. Members can then download it to their computers. There are a number of free sites. Here is a link to one.

Like most they will try to sell you an upgrade, but I believe you get 5 GB of space for free.

dhamblet, I can not talk with regards to Kino as it has been couple of months since I was there and a lot has changed it that time. Close to the border/Nogales, Pemex will only sale you 250 liters. The USA Customs will not let you bring back more than 100-200 gal. depending on the port of entry. Last time I talked to Nogales Customs about max allowed it was 200 gals, but don't count on it. They can lower it to 90 gals if they wish. Fuel has to be in a permanently installed fuel tank to the vehicle you are driving, in other words no cans, loose tanks or transfer tanks. Yes I know you may slip thu with a transfer tank, but they can stop you if you get that one special person. They asked when was the last time because I live near the border and make a trip over every few weeks. They are checking to make sure you are not crossing back into the USA with full tanks, selling the fuel and returning for more. I can not speak to what happens beyond Nogales yet. We will be taking a little deeper trip at the end of Sept. and I will share how that goes. Hope this all helps. You will be fine going down, you just may not be able to return with as much fuel as in the past. For those coming thu Arizona, the cheapest diesel in the State is in Eloy. Just returned from New Mexico and it was $4.15-4.19/gal. Flying J website is a good source for current USA fuel prices.

PEMEX Border Stations Selling ULSD

Now we just need to check some of these stations to see if they are actually selling ULSD.

Thanks Tom! I did it in less than five minutes. I tested it and it opens the file. Too easy.
