I did a search looking for a brand of toilet poper that works on trailers and didn't get a specific brand name to buy. Someone told me to use any septic tank safe TP but when I shopped I couldn't find it in the fine print, forgot my glasses. Did they hide it somewhere? It must be like tires where they try to hide the recommended tire pressures. Should I just buy the RV stuff at Wal-Mart and forget about trying to beat the system?

We look for 1-ply and will purchase anything. Lately it has been Scott.

Walmart sells the Thedford 1-ply and now they carry TST brand 2-ply.
IMHO I would stick with the 'RV/Marine' rated tiolet paper. Many of the regular store brands just say safe for 'septic' which is not the same as what we need in our holding tanks to breakdown 'completely'.
Many forum member will tell you they use regular TP all the time with no problems, me....the last thing I want to do is drop a black tank to clean it out from clogged paper. There IS a reason they sell TP specifically formulated for use in RV's.

Anything works except sandpaper. Sorry couldn't resist that ! I have been using regular 2 ply from the house for over 30 years with no clogs.

If you searched this Forum for `toilet paper' there were more than 700 responses. We use Scotts 1-ply paper.

Scotts actually have RV paper but their regular 1000' roll says it's RV safe. That's what we use.

Hi, IIRC some studies have shown some regular 2 ply brands actually break down faster than some so called RV 1 ply brands.
Try dissolving a sheet of each in a glass of water overnight and see what happens.
We buy whatever 2 ply name brand is on sale and haven't had any problems.
With hookups we always flush with more water than necessary.

Actully our trailer does not use toilet paper. Sorry I also could not resist. But seriously anything that passes the shake in a jar test will be fine.

We use the same as we use in the house. We will occasionally get a clog at the gate valve but that is what the FlushKing is stuck on there for

There are actually folks here on the Forum who do not put their toilet paper into their toilet...they put it in a receptacle BESIDE their toilet....
Others say they would never use their rig toilet for #2.
(I imagine this is all about that spotlessly clean black tank fettish)
Maybe they should just use their bare hand and then wash up..
