While sitting in the rig, watching TV and exercising the gen set this afternoon, I dug out the TV manuals to find out if they were digital or analog. As I suspected both were analog.

So, having been bombarded by the government's DTV digital coupon program commercials, I went online to apply for a couple. I filled out the online form, hit the send button. I immediatly recieved a message that said, yes, you are eligible for coupons, but the program has lost its funding. If the funding is restored they will send the certificates.

Stupid government. Oh well, serves me right for being lazy.

The funniest part is that they keep paying the TV stations to run the commercials.

I sent for 2, they never arrived. I think they ran out of funding long before they actually admitted it!

I think it is more of public service commercial than a paid commercial but you are right, they keep playing the commercials relentlessly.

According to the programs website they have $68 million left !!

These coupons have an expiration date.
There are 1,000s out there that have been issued and have not been used.
So, until they figure out which ones have not been used, it will free up some of the money.

Or you can just go buy a convertor box.
