Ok, I have been reading about all the cold weather prep some of you guys have been doing, and it got me thinking...
I recently acquried a 2007 Adventurer 810ws, and I was wondering if any of you know of the weak spots for freezing up. I got it in Mid December, and even though we have been using it, I put the pink stuff in.
Mine does have the 1 small duct that disappears into the basement. I have not had time to check out temps etc. But just looking at it it looks like the sewer is at risk right were the dump handles are so I have been afraid to really use all the systems in freezing weather... (just using toilet with 1 gal of pink stuff in it...)

Thanks for the reply. At least I won't be using it in as cold temps as you up there in AK!
We have used it a total of 5 nights so far. It has been unseasonably cold here lately... I did wake up one night, and it was 3F deg out. We were toasty warm, but it would have been nice to wake up to a quick shower.

My suggestion would be to get one of the thermometer setups that have wireless remotes. Or even just stash a few regular thermometers and do some measuring in the most risky spots. You may be pleasantly surprised about how it works.....if may be fine. You can do this without putting water in the tanks....just leave the heater on while parked at home, plugged in, and compare the temps (and make sure to measure outside as well) and see how it does. Or you can just use it and see if you run into any trouble Remember, even those risky spots like the dump bay only need to be 32.1 degrees to not be an issue.

I have a 2003 model, have used it to -20c We used all our water and black and grey tanks with no freeze ups The only mod is 1.5 inch blue foam board on the bottom. That duct goes to the basement near the valvesunder the bathroom. But you have to keep the furnace up to keep enough heat down there or you valves will freeze.

yes, we do wintercamping with our 810WS/2004. The lowest temps were 0 Fahrenheit. We dont fill the tanks, neither fresh nor black or grey. We put a bucket under the outflow and a jerry can of fresh water inside. So , we don't wory about frozen valves etc.
Crtitcal points are the zones at the walls in the cabinet and behind the cushions. At ALL walls I installed a couple of nice "heating foiles" (AC), which only are comsumpting 120W in total, all together. Thats a perfect system: http://www.heizfilm.de/heizfilme.php .
Now here are 5 810WS owners, aren't we ?! :-)

My 2001 Adventurer was not a cold weather camper. Regardless, no matter how well insulated it is using pink stuff is a good idea.

I looked on the net for heizfilm and found numerous european sources. Does anyone know a good US source and their experiences with this product?
