I think it is too early to tell if Dodge will still be around or not. I can't think of any reason to make one other than a host for a CTD, and from what I've read, they've messed that up in the last couple of years with the emission requirements.

Even an emissions laden 6.7 Cummins is better than a 6.0L PSD.

Dodge Rams will be around. Business as usual.

It's funny, when I bought my truck in January of last year, none of this talk was going on. Later that year the gas prices sky rocketed, then the economy tanked, now we are talking bankruptcy. Wow, what a year. If I was buying today, my decision could be different, but I doubt it. I love my truck and I drove the other 2 brands...I liked the Dodge a whole lot better.

The 6.7 isn't tempting at all for me. Especially now, but then I've only had min 6.0 for 3 years with no issues.

Is the business as usual like the last Chrysler bailout? or the Daimler merger...or something different.

This round is going to be far longer and much more contentious. I was listening to an interview of a corporate bankruptcy lawyer and he's convinced that this is going to the supreme court and least twice due to all of the government involvement so far. This is all untested territory to have this level of involvement so no one knows how it's going to shake out.

Since Cummins and Fiat are already partners engine wish I double Ford is going to jump in bed with them too but strange times could make for strange bedfellows. Ford may be the only one not owned in part by we the people. Fiat is looking at taking over GM European division stated tonight.

Actually WERE partners, they divorced in 1996 from memory. The 6.7 Cummins was developed by IVECO and Cummins. It is known as the IVECO/Cummins.

It doesn't matter that the Ram Trucks are the best or one of the best selling Dodges. When (NOW) Obama loans them money, he will tell them what to make and what not to make. Do you think they are going to let them build Big, low milage trucks, Nope!!!!
They will have to come out with a electric truck, green truck to keep the tree huggers happy. Then he is going to go with the coal taxes and drive up the cost of energy. Then we want be able to drive out of town, so that we age all going to be living in our campers when it is all said and done.
better buy them trucks NOW while they are available.

I've got one word for the Dodge and Chevy people who seem to love to bash Ford. "Scorpion". Ford will be back with a quality diesel and my trouble free run hard 2004 6.0 will be around and still under warranty when the new ford diesel hits the road. Until then enjoy your trucks and your (perceived) place on top.

I guess if you are the last man standing it kind of means you are the best or at least at that point in time. Ford had done some things correctly and are now being rewarded. If they play their cards (cars) right for the next 5 years they could be a world class leader.

Large work trucks are here to stay because the companies using them will just raise prices to pay the carbon taxes.

None of the big three are gonna survive very long if people aren't buying new product. Nothing can overcome this hurdle.........
