I do not have a tow vehicle but need to move my 34 feet 5th wheel
from near Corpus Christi to Kerville Texas.
My questions are:
(1) Does anyone know any business/dealer that will rent you a
tow truck with the hitch on the back so I can tow the RV myself?
I called car rental companies. None of them have such a vehicle.

(2) Can anyone help me tow my RV for a charge?

Thank you.

You might also ask you local dealer if they could make a recommendation. Or suggest someone that might be interested.

That is what I did. Bought the Jayco before I got the hitch, paid a guy 100 bucks to move it 30 miles and park it for me, both of us were happy.

It is difficult to go to local RV park and knock
on the door to see if anyone is interested in moving
your 5th wheel. You obviously cannot stop someone on
the road or talk to a stranger in rest area although
I see so many people towing their 5th wheel on the road.
The local dealer connections are mostly ripped off as
they want to charge you big money even many of them
don't even have commercial driver license or have insurance against
damage to your RV if accident occurs.

There are several major firms that handle deliveries of new rigs from the factories in Indiana to local RV dealers. These firms use individual owner/operator rigs and give them lots of flexiability. These trucks go back to Indiana unloaded. I bet an operator would be happy to pick up an extra job after dropping off a new fiver at a Corpus Christi dealer, but the local dealer can't help with this, you will need to contact the delivery firms directly.

In Corpus area there will be tons of Hot Shot drivers driving for the oil companies (there are the guys with the goose neck rigs on the pickups that you see all over texas). Look them up in the yellow pages. I am sure you will find someone who will be able to do it for you for a price.
