FWIW; I have been getting out to check when I did not see a height posted. I was wondering if I was wasting my time...
Seems to me service stations would want this posted to avoid any..."incidents".
I guess I will continue my exit routine when fueling up!
Now about that fridge question....
Bill
There are hundreds of opinions posted around RV.net on both sides of the fridge question. What you have to consider is that which you have no control over (i.e. do you trust the moron at the next pump to not screw up and overfill his gas tank or portable can). I have seen on a few occasions someone pulling the nozzle out with fuel still pumping. Add an open flame and get the marshmallows.
Go to You Tube and search videos for gas station fires then do what you're comfortable with.

The chance of your refrigerator starting a fire in a gas station is remote. Particularly on a truck camper as they are mounted so high above the ground.
However "remote" is not impossible.

As noted, my refrigerator is the side opposite (passenger side) my fuel fill and the pumps (driver side), so my fridge is maybe 6' from any open fuel source?
I would think this give spontaneous combustion a very remote opportunity?
Even less than the moron smoking in the car next to me.
If my fridge were same side as fuel fill/pumps, I would definitely shut down before refueling.
Curious as to what others with this same setup as us do when refueling...

I had always assumed it was OK because diesel is not as inflammable as gasoline and the fridge is on the other side. I totally ignored the fact thst other people were pumping gasoline! Never again, I don't care what anybody on the forum says.
