This is a little unusual in that I don't have the problem of my female dogs (2) killing the grass at home nearly so badly as they do at my current campground. At home I have Bermuda grass and here there is bluegrass.
I add a product called G-Whiz to the dog water bowl with every fillup. I buy this product at Amazon.com and it contains deionized water, dextrin, dl-malic acid, yucca shidigera extract plus a few other ingredients. It is supposed to stop dog urine from killing grass. As I said, at home it does a fair job. Here, the grass looks like a war zone.
I will be at this campground for four months. I move the x-pen every other day, but the G-Whiz isn't working. In theory, if I followed them around and immediately flushed the area with water after they urinated, it might solve the problem, but that is highly impractical.
Does anyone have anything they give their dogs that actually works?

As I understand the problem, urine contains ammonia which is very high in nitrogen. This is what burn and kills the grass. The nitrogen is not the slow release kind and burns and kills the grass the same as if you poured some regular quick release (not the non burning) fertilizer on the grass. Some grasses can tolerate the ammonia more than others. I don't think any additive will really cause much difference.

Oh yea, you'd have less ammonia?
what if you hit the spots with some miracle grow (the kind that fits on the hose?) maybe hit it at first sign of looking bad

With Baby, it wouldn’t matter what you give her. Her pee is so toxic that it will kill everything it comes in contact with...
I was told that it deteriorates the soil almost immediately, and will keep anything from growing in that area for at least 100 plus years!
I was thinking of marketing her pee as a weed killer but, EPA denied my application because of the extent that it deteriorated the soil, made it an un-environmentally safe product…LOL
It’s too bad because I thought I really had something going there. I saw that new Provost finally with in reach!!!!
The EPA did however insist that they keep the sample. I think they are going to use it to design a new secret weapon or something, leaving me on the outs from making a profit!!!
Sorry, my imagination is getting the better of me this morning.
Hey, I heard that!!!

PS Now that I'm in So. Cal., I figure I'd practice my screen play writing abilities…LOL
PSS Sorry, to answer your question. I think the best thing is to dilute their pee with water. When we lived in a house, we would have brown spots around the back yard. When I was out with Baby and was able to shoot the area with water as soon as she stopped peeing. The area I shot with water was OK.
Maybe carry a gallon jug of water with you.

Luckily, this is not true. It doesn't permanently contaminate the soil and the grass will both spread over the spot and will also eventually grow back.
The rest of the suggestions, while well meaning, also won't work, but thanks for them anyway.
