This weekend I happened to look at the controller for my solar panel and it was showing a current of 6.0 amps and a voltage of 13.7 v. That means I was getting 82.2 watts, which I think is pretty good for my 75 watt solar panel.

I run 2 x 75 watt SPs and the most I've ever seen is 11.5-12.0 amps on a sunny day when the batteries were down................

I suspect your meter is reading a bit high. Solar panels usually put out less than the rating.

Seems likely for two reasons: 1. panels are rated at a standard solar insolation and you might be getting more flux at your site and 2. panels are rated at a fixed voltage. A good optimizing controller can vary the apparent load and maximize wattage. Non-optimizing controllers are stuck running wherever the battery's condition and the panel's performance overlap.

That's fantastic. I get a peak of 15.1 amps at 14.3 volts, about 216 watts with two 100 watt panels and MPPT controller.
