Southside Johnny is THE band people think of when you think of New Jersey. Better than Springsteen...well, almost. I was raised in NJ and used to go down the shore to Seaside all the time. SSJ&AJ always had the best horn section you can imagine. I'd bet they really rock on New Years Eve.

We often go to Niagra Falls, Ontario for several days around New Years. The frozen falls in winter are unbelievable. We leave the 26th and return about the 3rd.

Trirboy, Most of the horns, including "LaBamba", are part of the Max Weinberg Band, the house band for Conan O'Brien. They do come back for the big show and the place does rock. We can't hear very well for the next few days which makes watching all of the football easier!!

I'd look at going to Myrtle Beach (we've spent New Years at Murrell's Inlet in Huntington Beach and it is less than a day's drive. We've also stopped in Eufaula, AL on our way to the FL Panhandle. We've been to the Keys for New Year's but that is a hard drive from just the north end of Florida. NC would be a 2 day drive. We planned on Chattanooga, TN one year, but never made it. Savannah may be possible too. This past year we spent it in Charleston, SC. Great time, just hanging out at the campground - never going anywhere though.

Just a Suggestion ORA Hilton Head or Lake Toxaway -- we have enjoyed both during the early winter months.

One day away -- Willow Tree RV resort in Longs, SC would be a nice place to consider.

ORA in Lake Toxaway, NC - is a motorhome only resort.

Ft Desoto in St Petersburg, Fl. From the campground you can see fireworks from a few different cities around the area.
