Just purchased a DP and would like to tow our RX300 4 on the floor.

Lexus manual shows it can as long as you don't exceed 55 and start engine every 200 miles.

I have searched the internet and this forum and found that some failures have occurred using this method of towing. Further more I hear some success stories.

Contacted my local dealer and they feel that that a lube pump would be necessary even though my calls and e-mail to Lexus indicated otherwise. Really confusing.

So what I would like to see some help on is

Are there other companys other than Remco that make Lube pumps that are not as expensive?

If I decide to go with the tow dolly are there any pitfalls out there I should know about other than handling problems pointed out in the forum?

Would like to hear from RX300 owners that are towing 4 on the floor without a lube pump.

Even with the lube pump, I advise against doing this. Ours is AWD - definitely don't do this on this one - even with the tow dolly, if AWD, again, don't do this on a dolly...

I even talked to the Lexus transmission mechanic - he still said not to do it with either drive system...

Thanks for the input DJ. Mine is a FWD. Lexus corporate still sticks to their guns that it is ok. Get the same info as you from local Lexus mechanics. I knew someday we might get an MH so when we bought the RX300 it was a powerful selling point. I didn't know it would be this long.

But I will base my decision on the facts such as case historys although I do appreciate opinions. The Lexus mechanics could not give one instant of a failure when following mfg procedure for towing. I have heard from forum members that have been successful pulling a 99-01 RX-300.

I would like to hear about both the successes and failure.

Thanks again
