this is to those who have bought new rv's in the last few monthes. How much off the suggested retail price did you get in percentage. You don't have to tell what you paid if you don't want, I'm just interested in the percentage. I just wonder how deep these dealers will go. I've been pricing new 5ers and it seems the best I can find is around 25% ie; $40k rig for 30k thanks rich

Rich,

We recently purchased a Class A DP. Numbers say we got about 31% discount here in N. Florida/ S. Georgia.

Unless its distressed merchandise, ie: out or going out of production, 25% is the norm...

There is a similarity in the components that are added to any rv. Each usually have a frig, ac, oven, cook-top, and etc. Therefore as you go up in price, the potential for a larger discount occurs.

Secondly, its really not necessary to get the absolute rock bottom price, just a fair one. It seems to me that 25% is reasonable, perhaps not the very rock bottom but certainly fair. You also need to consider the issue of post sale service/warranty, and how effective your dealer actually is.

Hey Rich,

Our local dealer was only willing to go down to 16% off the MSRP. Found RVDirect and bought it through them for 34 % off MSRP. This was on a Roo 183.

Good thing about that was that I was able to custom build it. Bad thing is that I have to wait 7-9 weeks to get it. But we're down to only 5 more!!!!

Guarantee Chevrolet and RV in Coburg, OR. has a big sign along I-5 offering $250,000.00 off MSRP. Considering most high-end coaches top out at around $500,000.00, (unless they have pretty outrageous customization), that's a pretty hefty discount. They sell top-end Monaco and Country Coach.
