could you please elaborate on this "simplicity"?
thanks,

Basically you just make sure it has a clear view to the southern sky, connect it and power up your receiver. There is a video on the winegard website that shows the simplicity and you can also download and look at the operation manual. It comes set up for directv but has a very good diagram for changing some dip switches for dish network or bell tv.

You don't have a separate controller to mess with but you do have to run the power cord. That is not that big a deal to me.

Austin

isn't that exactly the same setup for the VueCube without the added hassle of the electric power cord?

Actually it is more like the VuQube 2000 which does have a power cord. For me it is not a hassle since my coax and power outlet are near each other.

With the VuQube you have to use the wireless remote to elevate and rotate the dish to find the signal. With the Carryon you just hook it up and it finds the appropriate satellites.

The choice between these two systems is just personal opinion, both are great systems and provide great take along ease for RVers.

I would agree with austint. Either seem to be a good system and it comes down to personal preference. I have the Winegard portable and so far, I'm very pleased with it. I don't think it's better, but it's the one I found the best deal on and it's worked great.

We just bought the Winegard because of the free tripod offer from CW.

Any ideas what you are going to do to keep it from walking off?

Stainless Steel wire rope and 2 master locks. THe Winegard units has a spot to attach locks on its base.

We picked up a Winegard Carry Out about 2 weeks ago at the FMCA Rally in Ohio. Took it home and had the our dish box programed, turned it on and it took about 3 min for it to lock on to the sat. Works better than expected. We have Dish Network.
