Thinking of getting the Jayco Designer 35RLSA. Anybody have the Designer series FW? How do you like it? How is Jayco quality? Any thoughts and experiences welcome.

We've had 7 Jaycos so far and our #8 will be a Jayco Designer! We never had to use the 2 year warranty on any of them...quality is fantastic, as is the actual lost art of the pride that Jayco's employees show in their craftsmanship.
And since Jayco bought out Travel Supreme (terrific RV brand!) they seem to have added some special touches to their Designer and Designer Legacys making them even more up scale!
This is our 7th new Jayco in 30 years! Loved 'em all!

I love my Jayco toyhauler. It seems to be good quality, tows exceptionally well, quiet inside, well designed, and nice to look at inside and out. I've had no problems what so ever with it.

Even though ours has been spending a LOT of time at the dealer lately, we really love it. Comfortable, well made and LOVE the way it pulls!
Now to explain that comment :
Had the 5'er in for some warranty work in February, one of the workers did not hitch it up correctly, and dropped it on the back of one of their trucks!... = New front cap and 3 new panels underneath around the pin box! ... Plus the trim pieces!
When I went to pick it up after that repair, someone had closed the slides on the glass doors to the entertainment center ! = New trim on the slides, new front for entertainment center, all new hinges !!
So as you can see ... has nothing to do with the quality of the Fifth Wheel !!
Should be done next week.
Go for it ... You'll love it !

CRUZ,
I can't believe how much damage the dealer did to your FW. You trust them to repair all that! I'd be pretty PO'ed.

Well ... PO'ed is probably a little on the light side ... but I now know the owner on a first name basis ... and it's kind of funny when everyone runs the other way when I come in now.
My biggest concern was them taking the entertainment center apart and just replacing the damaged cross pieces. That part of it is done and looks like nothing happened (which is what I am insisting on!).
BTW ... bought ours over the internet from RVdirect.com. Since you're out of NY, you're probably already aware of these folks. No one here in the Southwest could even come close to the price!

I am fully aware of RV Direct. I can pick up at their Albany Facility. I actually got a better price from Campers Barn, which another large store in NY. They will also give me more for the trade as well. I still have to convince the DW though. Hence the questions on reliablity and craftsmanship.
I still have yet to see an RLSA in person. I have looked at all the other floorplans, but the RLSA was sold and there wasn't another in stock.

We have a 2008 RLSA Designer, that was the only way you could get one then. Now you can get an RLSA in the Eagle series. We love ours and the only thing we would change is a Queen size bed instead of the King. Were use to the smaller bed and I would like the extra room around the bed. The all enclosed bathroom was a demand by my wife and I wish ours didn't raise the bed when you retract the slide. On the other hand the extra storage space will come in handy some day, I suppose.

I had a Jayco 5th wheel for about 3 years. It was "OK", but I can't say it was any better than the Fleetwood I owned or the Gulf Stream I have now. We had our share of problems with the Jayco. The slide didn't seal correctly, it allowed mice to get in, and we had the assorted problems with collapsed drawers, bad valves, water leaks, malfunctioning window blinds, warped tabletop, etc. They never did fix the slide correctly, they just used the expanding foam to "fix" where it didn't line up correctly on the bottom. I believe there was some warpage somewhere on the slide, which prohibited them from fixing it correctly. Jayco was good about shipping parts out though. I had to deal with the factory when the dealer couldn't fix the slide seal problem, and I got the usual runaround "We're so sorry you're having problems. We are here to help, but..." I finally sold it.
I'm not bashing Jayco, so please don't flame me. Maybe I just got a substandard unit, but when I dug in and looked behind panels I saw the same kind of sloppiness that you see with most of them.
On edit: I had the "Eagle" bunkhouse.
