What would you consider a "luxury" item for tent camping (car camping, not backpacking)?
E.G., Cot, Aerobed, generator, TV, waterproof power cord, huge tent, fancy cooking supplies, clothes and gear storage units, etc.
If you wanted to be as comfortable as possible and have everything you want and more at hand, what luxuries do you take along?
Also looking for suggestions on organizing personal items and camp kitchen items. I absolutely detest digging through bins. Invariably, the item I'm seeking has fallen to the bottom and I have to take everything out of the bin to retrieve it. This goes on many times during a day. There has to be a better way. Anyone use plastic drawer set ups?
Thanks.

After camping in the TT I have found that I really prefer to camp with real pots and pans over my expensive set of nested pans that I used when we took our tent. This time we take the tent, I will be going with a stainless steel cooking set that I have picked up here and there at garage sales, new they would probably be about $150, used about $3 for the set.
I go for the bins but when we set up I have plastic coated wire shelf that my cooking supplies will set on.
We will be gone six-seven weeks so I will take about a dozen books with me, not a luxury but a necessity. All for a dine to a quarter apiece so they can be tossed or given away when finished. Any time I do not take something with me to read it rains non stop.
Nothing electric as we will be in back of the boondocks and do not want to take a generator.
Not a backpacking tent this time but one large enough to have two rooms and a carpet. Well maybe not the carpet, that is something we are still discussing.

We use Slumberjack big cots with thermarests on top, VERY comfy nights sleep! We also pack a screen tent these days, it's nice to have some shade and a bug free place to eat, also a place to read when it's rainy out.

By the time we wore out our family tent, we had: a queen size air bed at one end, two large cots at the other end, a chair to sit while changing, a fan in the summer, a heater in cooler weather, a carpet to protect the floor. The cots were awesome (we still have and use them at home for guests).
If we hadn't gotten our TT, I would have either bought a new tent with some sort of awning or used a screen room as an "entrance way" for the tent. Having some sort of awning or cover at the entrance to the tent goes a long way to helping to keep the inside clean.
We never found a better way of organizing than using small and large bins.

We have a large tent, we usually have our laptops and portable DVD player with us. We use an air mattress. Even the dog brings his bed!
I have a large kitchen bin but, inside the large kitchen bin I have smaller bins. I have one for kitchen utensils, another for spices and smaller kitchen dry goods, the pots and pans just sit inside the large bin. Then I set up the coleman outdoor kitchen and that is where I put all the kitchen stuff.
I have another large bin that I keep the lanterns, board games, other misc things that we bring with us.

I remember back in the 60's we used to ride motorcycles in the mountains a lot and do a lot of tent camping. One such trip, the Honda dealer always went with us, and he brought a Honda generator, so he set up a sting of lights and we had a tent city going with lights. we all felt we were up town that weekend.

Back in the day when I was tent camping, I use to use my utility trailer to bring all my stuff with me. We had a 10'x20' Coleman Castle tent, my wife wanted to have a separate tent to put all the supplies into, (kitchen stuff, pots and pans, bikes, etc etc), I had a generator mounted on the trailer so as to keep the blended margarita's flowing, brought the potable TV with antenna, slept on oversized cots....when I think back on doing it this way, It was Great, I loved it.
