On my last move, I just about took out a 7-11 gas pump because it was too close quarters. I swore I would never try a small manuevering area again. I will be traveling between Reno and Las Vegas on Route 95 soon. I was on that route once before and had trouble finding large open stations. I will be going through Fernley, Fallon, Hawthorne, Tonopah, Beatty, and Indian Springs. Anyone who knows of truck stop size stations, please advise.

All of the towns you mentioned have either a true truck stop or fuel stops with easy in/out for RVs. We travel this road at least once a year, sometimes more often and have never had problems locating a fuel stop for our rig.

Fernley right as you exit I-80. Fallon has one at Fallon RV Park and Hawthorne has a truck stop, can't remember the exact location, but it is on the main highway through town. Large stations in Tonopah as well.

I've gotten fuel in all the towns mentioned and always find one with plenty of room. I can recommend the Sunrise RV Park in Mina if you want peace and quiet with a view for a night or so. Have a nice trip.

If you fill up in Reno you should make it all the way to Beatty there is a large station on the right side entering town by the casino/motel with easy in and out use the last row of pumps on the out side for large rigs and diesel. Have fun

Thanks to everyone...Nevada Jim, I envy you that you can get from Reno to Beatty without refill. I would be one of those standing by the road with the red gas can. I have a 25 gallon tank and get 10mpg on level. Don't even want to talk about climbing. I don't like seeing my tank under a quarter so I'm going to be stopping once maybe twice before Beatty.

In Hawthorne there is a large Shell station as you enter town and in Tonopah as you enter town on your left there is a Union station and Burger King with a large parking lot and easy pump access,on the south side there are 2 stations that you can fit into. Sorry I was not thinking as we have a 75 gallon tank. Have fun

I run that route 2 to 3 times a year and it is 387 miles from Fallon to Las Vegas.

With that said and your MPG you may be wise to think fill up in Tonopah (182 +-) leaving (205)to LV or be safe and fill up again in Beatty.

You'll like the run it's a pleasure to drive.

Oh Yeah, I second the choice of the Sun Rise RV Park in Mina it's a neat small park about 40 miles south of Hawthorne. Good shade, well maintained and owned by a nice guy.
