I am considering updating the interior of our class A. I want to remove the barrel chair and replace with euro chair, new carpet, valances, wall paper or whatever you call that stuff on the walls, etc. Suggestions???

No real suggestion, but I'm wishing you good luck on a big project. You don't say the age of your RV, but updates on interior can make a big difference. It should be fun!

You will have to have some method of holding the chair in place but that is done every day. The actual construction of your walls would effect the decision to what can be done on the walls. We have done a reupholster, recarpet, and new floor in bath & kitchen. It did help us when we sold that MH a year later. Good Luck.

i would start kicking flea markets, yard sales, etc. to find my change out stuff, for ex. fabric (upholstry) can run over $30 a yd. but if you shop, $5yd can be had, figure 4.5-5 yds a chair.....flexsteel anyway.... or new replacement, on demand can run you $1500, waiting for a deal you can trip across em for $200 or less, but make sure you are going to like the fit, you can get the luna board at any home retailer, paint or wallpaper, even tile but watch you weight. cabinets will be your biggest hurdel seeing they are built in place. you might want to upgrade any wire issues you have at this time also.

who left the light on? is it me or are we leaning downhill. where did the dog run off to

We have a 2005 Hurricane which we bought used in March. It was in very good shape with a couple of exceptions....I just really am not thrilled with the interior and thought I would spruce things up a bit. Hopefully it won't cost me an arm and leg. Thanks for the suggestions so far!

You might want to consider replacing the carpet with a hard floor - laminate wood look or vinyl tile, perhaps - carpet is really not at all practical in MHs. Rigid valances or lambroquins are a fairly easy update. We got our euro recliner at discountleatherchairs.com - they have a range of prices depending upon your choice of materials: all leather, leather fronts/pleather type backs, all pleather/type fabrics - several nice colors and they will send samples. We've also replaced the jacknife sofa with a Magic Bed sofa - much more comfortable! I removed the booth benches & replaced them w/2 free standing chairs, made the table free standing by mounting a pedestal on it and removing the wall hardware - lots more room and much more usable now. I added shelves inside most of the cabinets to eliminate wasted space, dividers in the wide cabnets to keep contents from shifting and allow stacking of stuff.

See ya' down the road!

There are a lot of threads like yours.

A recent thread originator seemed to like seeing pics of our "home made" changes including the barrel chair.

Send an email to jmoore352@windstream.net and I'll email back a few pics of the changes we made in our machine.
