We'll be heading to Texas via route 35, any easy way around Austen?

State highway 130, (toll road), skirts Austin on the east side. The north end is a couple of miles north of Georgetown. SH130 currently ends south of Austin, (and east of IH35); but you can then take SH 45 west to IH35, (SH45 is toll also).

The toll ways are not heavily used, so you can make good time around Austin.

At Waco get on US # 77, follow 77 to Riviera, At Riviera take FM Road 285 West to Falfurrias, Then US 281 to the RGV, Very good road & very low traffic.

What rally is that? Is it the netters in RGV? If so, when? We are up in the hill country and will be heading for the gulf area in several weeks. May want to start in the RGV first. Glad I ran into this thread.

Thanks

Look at the top of the Forum and you will see RV.Net Winter Texan Gathering 4th Annual. We get together for an afternoon every year and this year it's Jan 18th. Great spot to meet people from the net.

Hope you can make it.
