I see the new release of Streets & Trips is advertising "New--Send your route to your GPS device." Has anyone heard or used this feature.
I would consider buying a new version of S&T if I could send it into my TOM TOM One XL-S.

It looks like you will be able to import & export GPS map with 2010. Click HERE for a review of 2010 Streets & Trip posted by a beta tester.

Went to "trial version page" registered, then couldn't find a button to click on to start the download. Typical Microsoft operation I guess.

Convert MS S&T to Garmin Route
There was a thread earlier this week that tells you how to convert a MS S&T map to a route that you can use in your Garmin. I have not used it yet, but it may be an alternative to buying the new MS S&T program. I just bought the 09 Streets and do not want to upgrade so soon.
The conversion program is called GPSBabel. It is a free download, but they request (not required) a donation of $25.

The thread that junmy3 referred to works very well. Just do it exactly as is stated on the thread. I read that thread and started using that method the day it was started. Google for GPSBABEL, download and install it and you are ready to go.

austinjenna, where was the button located on the page to start the download? I went to the link which said I had to register first then it would take me back to the page to start the download. I registered, it then took me back to the page, but then couldn't find a button anywhere to start the download.

Thanks to this thread, I just ordered S&T 2010. I used to buy the new version every year, but stopped doing that in 2008. Wouldn't have upgraded now, but for this new feature I'm excited to play with. I'll report back when I see how it works.
Ordered it from Amazon for $38, no tax, no shipping. Supposedly going to ship by 9/9/09.
Thanks again.
Regards,
Michelle
PS: I didn't have too much luck with GPSBabel because during the upload to the Garmin, my route would be altered. The 'fixes' just weren't worth the trouble.

I beleive that you have to put in several waypoints in S&T, especially where is a choice to go left or right or to take a different route. That way when you upload to your GPS, the GPS software will use your waypoints from S&T otherwise the GPS will compute a shortest or quickest route.
