I don't even want to say what I was thinking when I read this post.

Go ahead, say it. The floating hitch that moves left to right actually works better in uneven terrain. When I back into my driveway on that steep driveway, I'm also making a fairly sharp turn to the right, which is "cocking" the 5er, again, I've yet to hit my bedrails, I've been in more than several flying J's and no issues there. Been on uneven terrain in soft, rolling, grassy campsites and have not hit my bedrails...that's about it, every situation I can think of and been into, the left to right movement seems to help out with not hitting my bedrails, but maybe it's just me, my truck, my 5er and my hitch

Retired,

Don't do it. We could take this thread to a whole new level. Just let it go.

I had slightly under 5" on my previous 5th wheel. Normally no problem but....watch driveways (forward or reverse), service station entrances etc. Watch closely in the mirror, u can always back out.

MY rig has 5 3/4" at the hitch, a little less at the tailgate. I was a little worried at first but just got back from a lomg trip and had to cross a few doubtful areas but did not have a problem. As long as you are aware I don't think it will be a problem.

One "Jimmy and Kathy" is bad enough but two is unimaginable.
