All,

We have a strange problem. I did an oil and filter change before leaving on a 7-hour trip. It ran fine on the way, but as we returned home, it stopped after 15 minutes with one air conditioner running. After it cools off, (30 minutes or so) it will start right up, but again it will stop after 15 minutes.

The oil level is fine. Just after it quits, it appears that there is no spark when it is in this "state". Fuel is getting to the generator. I'm thinking the oil sensor might be the issue, but if this is the case, why does it run for 15 minutes? Is it possible the oil sensor is failing when the oil is hot?

Thanks for chiming in.

'95 Allegro Bay with Onan 7000 (Gas) There are no electronic displays for the 500 hour genset. I guess I ruled out the fuel filter since the problem is extremely consistent.

Th fault code is displayed via of the start switch... the little light blinks... it's normally two codes.. it will blink (for example) three times... then blink four times... this is fault code 34... What do you see?

There is no light on the control panel. The light on the interior start switch just goes out when the generator quits.

Yes, the tank is full and fuel level in the main tank (full thru 1/4) makes no difference.

The Fault code is read at the Genset Switch not the remote! If you have the manual look in the Troubleshooting Guide. If Not Down load one from the Onan website!

What model/spec/serial number?

Without that information we can only guess at what you have and unless we know what it is, it'll only be a guess.
